Here is how it works. Copy this list. Leave in the bands you've seen perform live. Delete the ones you haven't and add new ones that you have seen until you reach 25. An asterisk means the previous person had it on their list. Two asterisks means the last two people who did this before you had that band on their list ( Read more... )

I feel so ineffectual in comparison--I've seen none of these bands live. Does being invited to go to a Skinny Puppy show count?

um, i'm more jealous about the being invited to see puppy (more than likely when their shows were even more fucked up).

Nothing to be jealous about--one of the people I worked with (back in high school--early 90's) had an extra ticket.

Your list is interesting, not least because we're seeing NIN this Sunday night.

Haven't seen Bloc Party - would have loved to, but sold out too quickly, and too expensive - and I regret not seeing Iszoloscope when he was here a few years back.

my list is totally non-sensical and random. for some odd reason bloc party still isn't super popular in the states which i attribute to some commonwealth thing. they are totally unintelligible live though b/c their accent is so heavy.

iszoloscope was pretty awesome live, i saw him in some guy's apartment in the printing district of chicago and the cover was $5. pretty awesome.

Yeah, it seems so many bands that are uncompromisingly British - the Smiths, Stone Roses, Adorable, Pulp, Blur, Suede etc - find it hard to get a foothold in the US yet have no trouble whatsoever here. I don't know why that is.

i dunno, however, i think the smiths did pretty well here. stone roses, well i know them, and adorable yeah, and blur. pulp and suede i've heard of but don't own anything of. but i'm not a normal american music fan so i've probably disqualified myself.
