Why is it that I’m having the urge to protect you? We barely know each other, I have no idea what your favourites are but it doesn’t matter to me anymore. Protection, was given to me all the time but you… I want to give you what is given to me.

Kazuya watched the sleeping figure next to him. Last night when they reached Kazuya’s apartment, he had insisted that Jin slept next to him on his bed. He was afraid that the latter would catch a cold, which was not entirely the excuse anyway as Kazuya only wanted to keep the older boy close to him for the night… okay, maybe every night. But it still feared him, whenever the sleeping boy would kiss him, he was afraid that only the slight kiss would bring their relationship to another level.

Wait, relationship?

What kind of relationship are we really having?

Kazuya was still deep in his thoughts when Jin stirred in his sleep, the latter awake only to find himself looking at Kazuya sitting on the bed with his index finger on his chin and mind floating somewhere else.

Jin smiled. He would not mind waking up every morning to this beautiful sight.

“Good morning.”

Kazuya break his own train of thought as he looked at Jin, startled. He rubbed his head bashfully and pulled a small silly smile with a soundless ‘good morning’. Jin chuckled and pulled Kazuya, the latter fell on top of his body. Jin trailed a finger from his nose down to the tempting pair of lips. He leaned in and kissed Kazuya.

Kazuya did respond to the kiss, but Jin was aware of that vague edginess that was Kazuya. He pulled back and Kazuya took a huge intake of breath again before hesitating to peck Jin softly on his cheek.

Kazuya climbed down from the bed and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast while Jin only sat down awhile longer before getting up as well to the shower. He was halfway into the bathroom when he phone rang. He walked across the room and picked up his phone from the floor.

“Good morning, asshole!”

“Ryo?”

“Yeah! Listen, I found your dad’s will!”

“You did? How?”

“I had a few contacts. Anyway, can we - hold on.”

A moan was heard from the other end of the line. Jin thought he caught someone saying "Ryo, don’t shout~ I’m trying to get some sleep here~" and then a soft mumbling. Jin heard Ryo saying : "Sorry, Hime, I'll be quieter." He even heard sounds of people kissing before Ryo came back to the phone.

“Yeah. So where was I? Ah, yes. Can we meet up later?” Ryo was whispering.

“Yeah, sure. Noon?”

“Alright. See you then.”

Jin took his shower and ate his breakfast happily with Kazuya before jumping into his shoes to head off to work. He was pulled back from the door by a wavering Kazuya. The younger boy held his arm tightly, his head hung low. Jin cocked his head slightly and tilted Kazuya’s chin up with his fingers.

“What is it, cutie?”

Kazuya blushed and bit his lips. He pulled Jin closer until their faces were only inches apart. Jin smiled. He knew exactly what Kazuya was trying to pull but he only waited and watched with an amused smile on his face for the smaller boy to act it out.

Kazuya, still uncertain of what he was about to do, pressed his lips against the other’s softly.

Jin’s eyes were still closed when Kazuya pulled back from the kiss. The older boy opened his eyes and Kazuya held up a paper in front of his face.

Be careful. Come home early tonight, okay?

Jin smiled happily, reading the short but sweet words. He resisted the urge to pull the boy in for another kiss but he was afraid he would then take things a little too fast and scare the thin boy out of his skeleton.

Jin nodded and bid a ‘bye’ followed by another ‘wait for me tonight~” before he dashed off jauntily to the direction of the café.

He entered the half crowded café with a wide ass grin stuck on his face. Yamapi noticed very well that his best friend had encountered a lucky episode. He slapped Jin on the head before the latter whined in annoyance considering he had took a lot of time fixing it to result in a perfect frizz.

“Got laid?” Yamapi asked.

Jin smirked. “You think?”

“Fuck! For fucking real? Mr Silent finally gave in to your hips?”

Jin clicked his tongue. “Kazuya." Jin corrected.  "And no, I didn’t.”

Yamapi raised an eyebrow. “Then what’s with the stupid grin on your face?”

“You’re just jealous I have a cooler grin than you do.” Jin goaded in an attempt to get back at Yamapi for giving a name to Kazuya.

Yamapi scoffed. “As if.”

“He told me to come home early tonight~”

“Wow!”

“I know.”

“Maybe he wanted to take things to the next level. You know, second base…”

“I really hope that.”

Jin snickered in a not so cool way. He looked almost like a lovesick puppy with his one hand holding his chin up and looking indistinctly at the door to the café.

He wondered what Kazuya would have planned to surprise him when he gets home. He was dreading the time when he would finish his shift. So many instances of surprises Jin had supposed but when he thought again how very much of innocence that Kazuya has, his fantasies blew off in a pop.

He lights up another new fantasy again before a familiar figure entered the café. Ryo walks in with a thick envelope under his arm with an expression on his face Jin hoped it was not a bad news coming from his mouth soon.

There goes his cheery mood.

“So, how is it?” Jin asked as they both settled down on an empty table.

Ryo smiled and handed him a piece of paper. Jin’s mouth formed an O as he finished reading it.

“Your old man really planned ahead, didn’t he?”

Jin was still not recovered from the shock that he went through just a moment ago.

“Your dad listed everything he owned to you as the inheritor. The house, the accounts, other properties…”

“Dad has properties in the states?”

Ryo nodded. “Apparently, he also had accounts in China, Italy, Switzerland, Korea and - “

“No, wait. So does this mean my dad, he was rich?”

“You weren’t exactly poor before, either.”

“No, like, I mean, dad was a what, millionaire?”

“And you are the son of the said millionaire.”

“I’m rich?”

Ryo rolled his eyes. “You’re not rich. You’re just fucking rich.”

His father had owned so much, and yet he had only lived his life in moderate. Jin remembered that his father was always thrifty in everything involving purchases. His family never had financial problems but he never would have consider himself filthy rich like he had just heard.

“Your father probably doesn’t want you to grow up spoiled and living like a snob.” Ryo commented.

“But, he only works as a manager in some building, isn’t he? So how the hell did he get so fucking load of money?”

Ryo looks at him, surprise all over his face.

“Is that what your dad told you?”

“Yeah.”

“That’s bullshit, isn’t it? Your dad was the president of the major company which is now growing powerfully in the industry of marketing affairs in Japan.”

At that, Jin swore he had just received the shock of his life.

-

“Kame-chan! Pass me the brown book from the top shelf, please.”

Brown book… brown… brown… ah! There you are. Hmm…

Kazuya took the book and turned to the cover. On top of it, it was written in thick bold letters : Dreams

Dreams…?

“Kame, you okay?” Koki asked.

Kazuya nodded and smiled before passing the book to Koki.

“Careful, you’re standing pretty high and I don’t trust that ladder.” Koki narrowed his eyes at the immobile object under Kazuya.

Kazuya finished arranging the books in the top shelf and he climbed down carefully from the shaky ladder. He was curious about the brown book and he wanted to find it. He stumbled on his way to the second aisle where the ‘Fantasy’ category of books were located before knocking himself onto a stranger who Kazuya thought had appeared out of nowhere when the fact is the said stranger had been standing there for hours but Kazuya was too deep in his thought and carelessly bumped into the stranger.

He apologized nevertheless, followed by a small bow.

The stranger looks at Kazuya with a peculiar expression. At first he was angry, but then when Kazuya apologised and bit his lip for the stranger’s outburst at his carelessness it never came. In fact, the stranger’s lips quirked up a small smile.

Or smirk, Kazuya thought.

“Fantasy nerd?” the stranger asked.

Kazuya smiled and shook his head.

“Oh, you work here?” the boy pointed at his name tag.

“Kamenashi… Kazuya?”

Kazuya nodded.

“Hi. I’m Jun. Matsumoto Jun.”

Jun wore a black long coat and he looks pretty normal with his hair all curled up perfectly and he has a really gentle smile although the eyes indicated exactly the opposite, which Kazuya did not notice.

Kazuya took out his notebook and began writing. Jun only looks at him with an amused expression.

When he was done, he gave Jun the piece of paper.

Hi, Matsumoto-san.
It’s really a pleasure to meet you.
Sorry I had to write.
I can’t speak.

As he finished reading, Jun looks at Kazuya with an apologetic smile, which later became a cheerful smile.

“It’s not like I mind. I want to be your friend. Wanna go hang out with me?” Jun asked happily with an arm circled around Kazuya’s shoulders.

Kazuya was taken aback by the sudden exuberant gesture, not to mention the weird smile plastered on Jun’s face.

Jun, being a boy who was always alone had never been outside to see other people with normal disabilities like Kazuya. He had heard of people being mute, deaf and blind but had never met anyone like that. Jun had only spent his life inside his mansion until he turned 18 whence his father had made him took over the young Yakuza family where he held powers over the brothels and clubs in Tokyo.

Still, this is only the first time he had met someone like Kazuya and out of curiosity he wanted to know how people like Kazuya could live on without talking. He wanted to be Kazuya’s friend and know him better. He hoped Kazuya would be his friend too, especially when he tried to woo the smaller boy over with his weird ass smile.

Okay.

He thanked all the powers laid in his weird ass smile.

-

“Anyway, your father had saved a place for you in the Academy of Young Corporate.” Ryo said.

“What’s that?”

“Apparently it is a school for soon-to-be-corporate like you.”

“What?”

“You are taking over your father’s company, aren’t you?”

“What - no! No! No!”

“What? You have to!”

“Why? I don’t want to. I don’t know anything about stupid business stuff.”

“That’s why your father enrolled you in that school.”

“I’m eighteen and I can decide myself what I want to do for myself.” Jin refused the urge to fold his arms like a child.

“But, Jin. Its just a two years course. Go there, get your ass in that snob school and learn everything about being a perfect business man and you’ll come back to manage the big thing right here.”

When Jin did not reply, Ryo decided to continue.

“Come on, Jin. Don’t be like a baby. Do this for your late folks. You know they want you to succeed as much as they already did.”
“Then why didn’t they tell me about this? About them being so rich and -”

“Your dad wanted to keep a low profile, obviously. Telling you means telling the world, perhaps that’s what he thought.”

“What the fuck. That’s a mean thing to say, Ryoass!”

Ryo smirked. “Well, whatever. I’m taking this as a yes, alright?”

Jin did not answer but mumbled away to himself.

Ryo thought he could a few words like ‘ass pain’ and ‘torture hell’. Ryo got up from the chair and started packing the files and passing it to Jin.

“I’ll help you get the plane tickets. I’ve already called the place and confirmed your place. It seems that your dad had called them earlier before to affirm your enrolment. School starts on the 2nd of January.”

“Wait, what? School starts on the 2nd? B-but, its already the 23rd! That’s like, less than 2 weeks!”

“And you need to buy porns and sex toys.”

“Very funny.”

Ryo snickered. “Look on the bright side. At least you get to spend Christmas with your beloved Kazu-chan~”

“Shut up. And thank you.”

“Don’t mention it, asshole.”

Ryo took his briefcase and left the café. Jin still stood there holding the files in his hand, his mind somewhere else.

10 days left… that’s too little time…
