So, I was glancing through the Suikoden V guide for the twilight forest to see how the path curved because I was getting bloody lost again (HATE the entrance to that place), and it has a little box on Killey joining. At the end, it mentions that if you missed Killey in prison, you can still recruit him later at the Ceras Lake sluice gate. The way it's written is pretty vague:
"...Then you'll be joined by Killey, but only if you've freed him from Agage Prison and triggered the event at your castle that allowed him to visit the top-floor room. If not, you can still do things and recruit him later at the Ceras Lake sluice gate.."
So, naturally, I went to GameFaqs and looked it up and...found a bunch of confusion. Especially searching the forums, it doesn't seem like many (if any) one is getting him from the Ceras lake ruins, and exactly how you do so is kind of a mystery. You can't let him out after the Queen's campaign, so...Do you have to let him out before hand, and then either miss the scene at the top of the castle or choose the wrong choice at the Twilight ruins? Or do you just skip the first two scenes and do the twilight ruins, then meet up with him at the sluice gate later? And is the dialogue there different? (And does it change if you bring along Zweig and/or Lorelai and/or Viki?)
BLARGH. I'm very confused now.
I like Killey. Honestly I do. But I really don't want to have to rush through Suikoden V again just to see if his requirement scene reveals anything different (I doubt it would, but then again, wahey, you only get the info Killey smuggled something out of the prison/sun palace if you take Lorelai with you* to bust him out of prison, so who knows). It'd be an especially large pain considering how lengthy his recruitment process is - right at the very start of the game til practically the very end. Messing up means a hell of a lot of backtracking - you really might as well just start over again.
So - did anyone get him that way? And if you did, was there anything particularily interesting revealed in doing it that way? X_X
*I think. He's got something in his hand she only notices, anyway, if I remember right. The rest might just be conjecture on my part. I wish I wrote that scene down.
And I'm aware that I've got a lot of comments left to reply to, and I haven't forgotten them. But replies will likely be slow until I get done with finals, so I just ask for some patience. :D
