I`ve wanted to watch RE:Degeneration since I saw the trailer when watching Dark Knight so few weeks ago I went to buy the advance ticket (the ink-ribbon-keyholder bonus for advance ticket has run out T_T). Yesterday, after a visit to ENT doctor in the morning, I went to Shinjuku Picaddilly to exchange the advance ticket with the movie ticket. Guess what, the show up to 19.30 was full, so I took the 21.30 one since I don`t want to come back the other day. It was only 12.30 that time, so I decided to watch one more movie to kill time. I was contemplating between Homeless Chuugakusei and Yougisha X no Kenshin. I want to know how Koike Teppei fits for Tamura-kun but eh, maybe next time.
Below is my thought. I`ve minimilized possible spoilers but please read it on your own risk.
The movie begins with Yukawa-sensei explaining the explotion of a ferry with Gauss law (the experiment with giant bazooka(?) you see on the trailer). Then the story switched to a mother-daughter combination kill their husband/dad. A mathematics teacher named Ishigami Tetsuya lives next door who seems to have a crush with the mother helps them to create aliby to cover the crime. The victim body, found by the police has his face crushed and his fingerprints burnt, but on the estimated time of the killing, the suspected mother-daughter were watching movie. As usual, it`s up to Utsumi and Yukawa to solve the puzzle. Oh, and Ishigami is an old friend of Yukawa, thus the tagline "genius physician vs genius mathematician".
This one has longer screen time than the usual 1 hour tv-drama so the plot has better development. There`s no cheesy scene such as Yukawa suddenly attains enlighment and uses just about anything to scratch his formulas. Oh and this movie involves less pyshics than the dorama. This time, I feels like Fukuyama and Shibasaki`s screentime is less than Tsutsumi Shinichi and Matsuyuki Yasuko. XD The girls sat on my left and my right cried at the en..d of the movie *sweatdrops* but I have to admit that the story is touching.
Continuation from where the 4th game left off, kinda like FF:AC. But unlike AC, this one just threw in some new characters and rehashed the plot from the games, especially RE2.
So, to sum it up:
Leon and Claire - themselves (they are the protagonists for RE2)
Sherry Birkin - Rani Chawla
William Birkin - Curtis Miller (yes, he mutated into the same shape g-virus monster)
Ada Wong - Angela Miller
Dr Annette Birkin - Frederic Downing
Police Station event - Airport event
Underground lab event - Wilpharma event.
Actual summary can be read here as I`m too lazy to type it. The graphic is on-par with the game CG *Sigh* and all the the characters move like zombies. Oh, and I saw 2 Indonesian ABG girl who also watched this movie.
