Sir Alex retires

24 hours after the official announcement and I still can't get hold of my feelings about Sir Alex Ferguson retiring. For some it's just football but for me it's one of several things that I can count with my single hand that keeps me sane. My profession is quite stressful  but watching football never fails to make me remember who I am. Manchester United is just a football team to some people but for me it taught me things, Sir Alex taught me things just by watching him and United.

Football taught me to never give up, to just BELIEVE, to DREAM, respect, loyalty and that more than anything else family is the most important. It has been said many times that MUFC is a family club and Fergie always reminds players that no one is better or bigger than the club. The way he structured the Red Devils back to the team Sir Matt Busby made was amazing.

United by fighting back and never giving up taught that if you really want something, go for and fight for it until the dying seconds. It was never over until the final whistle. That even if you're a goal or couple of goals behind, if you persist then you might get the chance. That loyalty pays off and that you are never working a goal just for your own self.

I know that the only constant thing in this world is change but waking up to a day when United is manage by somebody else is like being in a twilight zone. When the next season starts in August, United is facing a difficult path. I think the players has been groomed to fight for a win and that we as fans should just trust that they will not give up any trophies without a fight.

It will be weird not seeing him in the sidelines chewing packets and packets of gums, wildly gesticulating at his players and the referees and importantly noting the time in his watch.

rl emo, i live for football, red devils
