Story Time!

For all of you who are wondering how I ended up in a castle, it started like this:

For once there was finally some nice weather (pounding rain en lieu of sweltering sunshine) so I decide `what a great day to go exploring`. I live on Takeda street, which is named so because of the huge Takeda shrine at the top of it. My journey first carries me up this hill.

After a very long, very steep uphill climb I reach a magestic Tori arch with a sign post beside it. I decide that I should look at the sign before entering, so I meander my way over.
As I approach the sigh I see two cats staring through me. One is a runty marmalade tabby, and the other is a soft, black fuzzball (for lack of a better description). I crouch down and extend my hand, as this usually compells cats to me. Tabby instantly sits up, and I could have swore that it winked at me. I cock my head in question, but it leaps back and hides under a bush.
I return to the other cat which is observing me leisurely. He picks himself up slowly and struts over to me. ( which I was very suprised by, since I was in the pouring rain, and he had been dry under the sign)
Expectantly he buts his head against my hand. As I sit on the sidewalk, I notice the mist swirling off of the warm pavement and feel a slight chill run down my spine. He suddenly struts back under his sign and begins cleaning himself. I sit for a timeless few seconds observing this creature of the shrine, and slowly realise that I have been dismissed.

I continue my journey toward the shrine.
I cross the moat (yes, a moat) on a small curved bridge, all the while noticing how the rain bounces so nicely off of the surface of the water. I then climb a set of steep stone steps to reach a small plateau with a tree and another sign. Ahead of me lies another set of steps, only this time much longer. The steps themselves were rough and uneven, with small lakes gathering in places.

Nearing the top, I notice a light, in fact a dull off- whiteish light seemed to be awaiting my arrival at the summit. Reaching the top, I gasp, rain instantly trespassing my lips. Before me is a long pathway with stone lanterns casting a pale glow the length of the path
