hey, free food. no complaints. who wouldn't want crab and mignon leftovers. that's damn good for college students. oh, i read good omens and anansi boys this past week. they were both excellent. thanks for the heads up. are there any other gaiman books i need to know about? i've read anansi, good omens, neverwhere, american gods, stardust, and i am currently on coraline. i know he has the sandman stuff, but i don't really want to read them. he's also got a bunch of short stories, but i'm not that interested in them. have you read any of them?
I think that's pretty much all his novels/written stuff. (I like Sandman! Plus he wrote for the Magic Books, the comic not the novels.) Some of his short story anthologies are interesting, but I mostly like his long novels. The anthologies are kind of a mix of fiction/poem-esque things/real life musings kind of stuff. I think the only short story I liked was the illustrated one (it was apparently supposed to be a comic, but the illustrator didn't draw comics so they worked around it); it reads a lot like a Japanese myth (I think it was based on one), can't think of the name right now.
Did you like Stardust? I can't remember why, but it was my least favorite Gaiman book.
It seems like people who like Gaiman, like Pratchett, too. :) I only like certain novels within the Discworld series, though. I'd definitely recommend reading Christopher Moore's The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror and Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal if you need some more novels to take up your time. ;P
so i just read the stupidest angel. hilarious stuff. going to move on to lamb next. i know moore has a bunch of other novels. have you read any of them? and do you know if there's a particular order to his books?
:) Yay! No, there's no particular order to his stuff since they're not really related. Just read whatever happens to catch your interest, I guess! (Sadly enough, I'm still stuck halfway through Dirty Job. SIGH.)
