The joys of pet ownership

Euki, the nice cat, likes to eat weird shit. Aside from a passion for cheese, she can often be seen eating carpet fuzz. She's also very playful (not really unusual for a cat). Sitting up on the table near our keys was a small spool of thread. A couple of days ago, I noticed the spool sitting on the ground, empty, where before there had been a decent amount of thread. I looked around for the thread, didn't find it, and promptly forgot about the whole thing.

Yesterday, we found a couple of cat poops in the living room. Gross, but not unheard of, as the cats have been known to play with their poop. Like I said, very playful. Again, I didn't think much of it.

This morning, the cat is standing up on the windowsill and I notice something odd. She appears to have gotten something stuck to her hindquarters. I look a bit more carefully, and several events from the last few days become much clearer. Euki had eaten the string, and about 4" was sticking out of her butt this morning. The poops found in the living room had not been batted over there, but rather dangled like a poop pearl necklace out of her butt for a while before finally coming off. Ick. Additionally, I'm not exactly sure how much string is up in the cat, as when I tried tugging on the exposed end it didn't move. So basically, we've got several more days of string expulsion ahead of us. Gross, eh?
