That's a hell of an error in the hard drive. It can't be mounted in a working box? I had some trouble with a drive awhile back and found all sorts of software (some of rather questionable nature) to recover what I needed -- took a bit of a day, but it was worth it. Wish I could help. :(

The guy at the Genius Bar at the Mac store said that the hard drive may have been defective. Basically, it "spun out" like needle that can't find a record. The whole thing would have to be delicately taken apart and rebuilt, which is why it would cot so much.

Ahhh. Gotcha. I haven't messed with Macs aside from awkwardly using them from time to time, so if that's the case I'm not gonna question it. Still, that sucks like a Hoover on 'roids.

I'm working on a bad drive myself, right this very second.

Tell me more of this drive problem you're having. I might be able to retrieve the data for you.

Well, unless you know how to physically repair a hard drive, nothing can be retrieved. The hard drive physically damaged itself. Thank you though, and good luck with yours!

Mac or pc? I've got great mac recovery software, if you want. Also, a shit ton of recovered photos of you. :)

Mac. but recovery software won't work. I tried a bunch or different program, running discs at startup, and they can't even locate the hard drive. It damaged itself to the point of not being recognized. When pulled out of the laptop, it couldn't even be hooked up to anything; its like it "spins out" and makes a "not right" beep/ping noise internally.

Next time we're both online, maybe you can dump those pictures in a folder to transfer? I'm still working on getting some photos of you from Brad too.

Thanks!

Oooh ja... that's what happened with my laptop too. The click of death, unfindable all that.

It'll take me a while to find all of em I have of you, cos as of today, they're many in a fold 34000 strong, all labeled image23462534765 or so. Hit me up when you see me online and I'll send you what I have at that point renamed. :)

Thank you!

I'll do the same. I have to got to Brad's and look through just as many x3 files. You should email Lucien/Joe too. Drunkrockers archives.

I know Adrian has some too.
