Prologue / 1st Want / 2nd Want / 3rd Want / 4th Want / 5th Want / 6th Want

Ryutaro covered his ears as he heard loud voices downstairs. The familiar yellings of his mom and dad, probably arguing about something trivial once again after both were home after a long while. Truthfully, Ryutaro preferred none of them at home since it was more peaceful that way.

It couldn't be helped that his dad's personality was like that. One-minded. Short-tempered. Stubborn. Where else would Ryutaro had obtain those genes?

But this time, it was worse than ever. He usually became disheartened, seeing his mom many times, having to take in all of his dad's words because each time she tried to say something, his dad didn't listen and cut her off. His mom wasn't the type to trouble anyone or make situations worse, but this time, she fought back, snapping at the same level as his dad's.

There was banging on the table, most likely from the slamming of their fists as if that would make one seem more powerful than the other.

Ryutaro tried to turn up the volume of his music but that failed, since the heated argument could still be heard. The dreaded feeling in the pits of stomach and his heart overflowed. Waves of emotoins crashed against one another until Ryutaro couldn't take it anymore as he grabbed what he saw at the moment and went downstairs.

"Can you two just stop? Please STOP!" Ryutaro exclaimed, trying to overpower their voices and get through to them.

Tears fell as he saw his dysfunctional family. It was like everything was crumbling apart and things wouldn't be the same again. What if... what if... he didn't want to think about it.

He took a deep breath. "MOM! DAD!" he bellowed at his loudest.

They both finally stopped, their eyes full of anger.

With his voice cracking and in a small voice, he said, "You two haven't even been taking care of me like parents should." With the deepest truth that he tried to ignore, he finally let it out. He left the house in a hurry, not sure where he should go.

Daiki waited for his boyfriend to arrive for their date at the park. He sat on the bench, kicking his legs happily like a small child.

"Hey, Yuto."

Yuto barely looked up at him and Daiki frowned, wondering what was wrong. "Hey there. How did the talk go?"

"Oh, I guess it did go well," Daiki answered, smiling at him.

When he didn't see Yuto's familiar grin, he became worried. Well, he hadn't been spending any quality time with Yuto lately either. Yuto probably felt neglected and was unhappy with him but just didn't say anything. He was always such a thoughtful boyfriend.

"Hey, let's go on a date tomorrow," Daiki suggested, putting his hand on top of Yuto's.

Yuto was about to interlock their fingers when he pulled them away as Chinen walked inside the classroom. "Sure."

"Sorry. We should spend more time together."

Yuto forced a smile. "Yeah..."

"Same place, same time?"

His boyfriend nodded and hopefully, Daiki could cheer Yuto up on their date. He leaned in and pressed his mouth on Yuto's forehead before the bell rang.

He heard his cellphone ring, expecting that it was Yuto, who probably overslept again. Some things never changed.

"Hello? Yuto?" he answered with a small laugh. "Overslept agian?"

"...D-Dai-chan..."

Daiki froze, recognizing that voice as someone else's than Yuto's. He looked at his phone to see that it was an unknown number.

"...Favor..."

Favor... That's when Daiki figured out that it was Ryutaro. "How'd you get my number...?" he trailed off as sniffles and small hiccups became apparent. "What's wrong?" He becamed worried. That frail voice was totally unlike Ryutaro. "Are you... crying?"

This caused Ryutaro to sob and Daiki quickly asked, 'Where are you?"

"T-tree... cherry-"

"Stay there," Daiki ordered as he hung up and rushed over to where Ryutaro was located.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ryutaro wasn't sure why he had called Daiki in the first place. Would Daiki even come? He had needed someone and that's who popped up in his mind. He had gotten the number from Chinen  that one day even though it wasn't much. Plus he had planned to just prank call him or something later.
But now, he felt lonelier than ever. Ryutaro had always told himself that crying was for babies and made him seem weaker but the more he thought about it, the more he cried. Huddling, his back leaning onto the tree and his legs pulled up against his chest, tears made his sleeves damper. He just wanted his mom and dad back. Was that so much to ask?
"Ryutaro!"
Ryutaro's heart skipped a beat, hearing the familiar voice. He didn't think that Daiki would actually come but then this was a favor. He didn't plan for it to be wasted this way. Ryutaro sniffled and more tears came out as a result. Truthfully, he was relieved.
Daiki had spotted a small figure sitting down with his head in his arms, shaking. And now he wasn't sure what to do after he called the boy to tell him that he was there. "Ryutaro, at least let me look at you," he murmured.
Ryutaro shook his head and Daiki waited. The younger boy finally did and Daiki's heart fell at the puffy red eyes and quivering lips. His nose was running and to simply put it, Ryutaro was so vulnerable at the moment.
Daiki got on his knees and pulled Ryutaro into his arms, his hand stroking his hair.
Ryutaro feebly tried pushing Daiki away. All Daiki could understand was, "shirt..." and knew what he meant.
"Stupid, it's not time to worry about that."
Hearing this, Ryutaro felt as ease as he let it all out. "P-parents... big fight... s-scared... d... divorce..." Ryutaro choked out, clinging onto Daiki for dear life.
"Mm... I'm here, Ryutaro, if you need someone," Daiki murmured against Ryutaro's ear.
After some more crying and finally calming down, Ryutaro was able to say, while nuzzling against the comfortable warmth, "I need you, Dai-chan..."
Daiki pulled away a bit to see Ryutaro's big watery eyes, flashing desperation and helplessness. He ruffled his hair and for some reason, randomly thought that Ryutaro was cute right now. "Okay."
"Will you stay with me?"
Daiki's eyes widen as he heard this before his expression broke into a smile, thinking that Ryutaro was just like a little kid again.
His thoughts got interrupted when Ryutaro leaned forward, pressing their lips together awkwardly. He didn't push Ryutaro away and just blinked, not sure how to comprehend the situation as Ryutaro broke away, falling asleep on his chest soundly.
Little did Daiki know that a pair of eyes were watching from afar, hurt flashing in his eyes as he teared away from the sight and walked away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yuto had managed to wake up on time so he could get ready for his date with Daiki. After what happened recently, he needed this.

He was even humming a song until his eye caught Daiki by the cherry tree. That's weird. We didn't agree to meet there... maybe he's just waiting for me.

Yuto was about to call Daiki when he saw another figure. He squinted his eyes to see who it was. Morimoto-kun? As he got a better view, he noticed Daiki hugging Ryutaro?

His heart fell at this. No, misunderstandings were bad. I should ask what happened first. After all, Ryutaro wasn't his usual self lately either. Plus Dai-chan wouldn't do this to me.

All those thoughts disappeared as his eyes widen, seeing Ryutaro initiating a kiss on Daiki.

Seconds felt like hours for Yuto, almost as if time stopped. Inside, he had hoped Daiki would've pushed him away automatically but eeing as he didn't and let himself be kissed, Yuto swallowed hard.

The kiss ended as Ryutaro snuggled against Daiki with closed eyes.

Yuto wanted to say that was an misunderstanding, that it was just the angle but... that would make him in denial. Hugs were okay but kissing... wasn't that a bit too intimate? Only for boyfriend boyfriends? Daiki... Why? Was he tired of him? Since when did Ryutaro like Daiki? Many questions appeared in his head. Why was this all happening now? First Chinen and now Daiki.

Tear drops formed at the corner of his eyes as he turned, letting his feet take him wherever.

Somehow he had ended up in front of Chinen's house. Yes, the person who had been avoiding him.

Chinen had luckily looked out of his window and spotted Yuto...? What was Yuto doing here? His heart lifted up in happiness as he went downstairs. He was about to open the door as his hand stayed on the doorknob. What did Yuto want? To reject him? No, he couldn't bear to be rejected by Yuto. Not like this.

Though he was wondering why Yuto was just standing there, not bothering to knock. Chinen pondered a bit. Avoiding Yuto... maybe he was just respecting his privacy like he usually did. It was so like Yuto to do that.

It wasn't until something made the ground wet that caught Chinen's attention. A light drizzle fell and Chinen looked to see if Yuto had left. He saw Yuto staying there, still. Even though Chinen wanted to avoid Yuto, he couldn't let him get sick in the rain like that. He knew something was wrong, too.

Chinen swung the door open, stepped out and grabbed Yuto's arm, pulling him inside the house.

Yuto let himself be dragged up to Chinen's room while murmuring, "Chii..."

Chinen's heart tap danced, hearing Yuto say his nickname. That's when he noticed Yuto's eyes were a bit red and watery when the taller boy sat down on his bed. And it definitely wasn't from the rain. But first, he had to take care of Yuto's hair. He went to the closet and grabbed a towel. Chinen had offered it but Yuto didn't take it, still in a bit out of it apparently.

The little boy gently started dry Yuto's hair with the towel. "What... happened?" He wasn't sure if he should've asked but he did anyways, not liking the silence.

Yuto shook his head, forcing out a smile. "I was just passing by." Why am I doing the opposite of how I really feel?

Chinen frowned a bit, ruffling Yuto's hair. "Liar," he muttered. "No one would stand out in the rain like that if they were merely passing by."

Yuto didn't respond since Chinen was right. There was an awkward tension in the air that came as Chinen finally finished drying his hair.

"Did... something happen? Where's Ari-chan?" Chinen asked cautiously even though he didn't really want to get involved especially if there was a fight going on between the two.

"With Morimoto-kun..." Yuto answered reluctantly as the image came back to his mind.

"Eh?" Chinen blinked in confusion.

"I... saw them... hugging and... and..." Yuto could feel his throat becoming dry. "Kissing..." he barely managed to say before his voice cracked and tears stung his eyes again.

Chinen was shocked. Ryutaro-kun kissed Ari-chan? Eh?

"A-and... Dai-chan didn't even push him away," Yuto added quickly before tears drops fell on his hands.

Did Ari-chan really like Ryutaro-kun? But how could Ari-chan do that to Yuto? "Are you sure you saw them... you know..."

Yuto sniffled as he used the back of his hand to wipe away his incoming tears.

Chinen knew that Yuto didn't like misunderstandings and wouldn't say anything like that without knowing what really happened.

The more he thought about it, the more Chinen wasn't sure what he should do. At one point, he was happy for Ryutaro for finally expressing his feelings for Daiki... and Daiki had somehow reciprocated... but for another, Daiki was still with Yuto after all. Even though Chinen secretly wanted Yuto for himself... this wasn't right at all. Was he supposed to be mad at Daiki? What should he do now?

"Chii... why do you like me?" Yuto suddenly asked as his vision became blurry. He didn't even know why he asked that right now.

Chinen's heart stopped. S-so Yuto did find out... he knows...

"I-I mean..." Yuto choked back a sob. "It's obvious Dai-chan isn't h-happy with m-me..."

Chinen could feel his heart squeezing at the sight of Yuto breaking down yet he wasn't sure what he should do. He let his body take over as he pushed away his jumbling thoughts and pulled the vulnerable boy into his arms.

Yuto had tensed up and Chinen thought for sure his friend would push him away but he didn't. Long arms wrapped around his small waist as Yuto cried against his shirt. "I'm happy with you, Yuto." Chinen could feel his voice wavering, too. "All these years, I was happy to be by your side even if you were with Ari-chan. Because I like..." Chinen bit his bottom lip as his eyes became watery. "I like you, Yuto... no matter what, I'm happy to be near you," he confessed.

The taller boy hugged him tighter as Chinen buried his nose in Yuto's hair.

I'm sorry, Yuto... I'm sorry that I love you...
