Hmm..

It'd be helluva expensive, and I'm sure you already considered it, but what about dorming? Just get a bunch of grants and loans, dorm, and all you have to worry about money-wise is food and gas.

It's a good halfway between being with your parents and being on your own. It's actually a bit more restrictive in some ways (having to deal with roommates and suite mates), bu you don't have to worry about monthly bills or anything. On the other side, it feels different than living at home, because you're still responsible for yourself.

*shrugs*

i really don't want to live in a dorm. it's overly expensive, and i don't want to be by myself. hhaha. i want roommates! i really do.

also, i'm pretty sure that the college i'm going to go to doesn't have dorms.

also i don't want to take a student loan unless i have to.

you can get a double room.. in dorms
and it really is like having room mates
as long as you aren't one of the lame people that only hangs out in their rooms or doesn't make new friends
but i doubt you would be like that

living in Res was SICK
it was one of the best choices i made... well i had to live their that year as i couldn't live from home and go to school

but ya as you said their going to some college most likely won't have dorms as only universities tend to have them well here in victoria at least

You almost always have a roommate when ya dorm =) Alternately, there's probably off-campus housing (either provide by the school, or privately owned apartments) you could look into.

As for loans, I hear ya. However, it's a sad reality you'll be forced to contend with, given increasing tuition and cost-of-living expenses. I tried the no-loans route... wasn't pretty and all I have to show for it is half the credits I would need for a degree, and its kinda hard to get back in, working full time to pay bills and all =/

Stil,, good luck with whatever you decide on =)

Just a suggestion... why don't you try to make a deal with your parents... they pay for your tuition and other school needs, and you work to support yourself, ei. rent, utilities, spending money, etc...

but I just want to warn you, I have quite a few friends that's doing that... because they have no choice, and they find it really tiring... but if you want to learn indepence (which I want to put off forever)... having you're parents help with tuition is a really good idea... because it'll start you off since you still need to earn your living... but not have to worry about tuition, which you don't need throughout your life, so it's fair to have your parents help you on that part :D
