It's beginning to dawn on me now that I'm starting university in just two days' time. My work shifts have been sorted now so that I'll have time for both, which is excellent as I don't think I'd be able to cope financially without at least my contract hours.
In a moment of panic yesterday, when I saw that I was still scheduled for shifts during the week (which would clash with the induction events), I contemplated quitting to make room for my education, and calculated how much money that would leave me with.
On student finance alone, I would have £50 per week of term time. £30 on that would be going on transport costs, and that's with my rail card. That would allow £20 for food, books, materials, toiletries, emergencies such as vet bills...
So yeah, I'm staying at my job. I'll happily sacrifice my weekends because I've been skint before, and I don't recommend it! Plus I'd miss my colleagues.
I've been looking at the induction events for my courses, and the Fine Art one involves some kind of field trip, starting at 11am?? I'm intrigued. And also sleepy. Imma go to bed.

woes: financial woes,
