One does not simply walk into Mordor... one uses malware to get in!

So I think I have another malware thingy on my computer. WHERE THE HELL DO THEY COME FROM. There I was, happily browsing the Internet (or as happily as a TalkTalk user could browse, at any rate) when suddenly BOOM! The browser closes, and when I try to open it up again I get a pop-up saying 'install Vista Home Security 2011 OR DIE'. See, the thing ( Read more... )

You just don't have any luck with Malware do you? It usually comes in in attachments or via scripts on pages. It also comes in the popups or ads sometimes. I keep adblocker plus and noscript on Firefox to help battle those.

I'm happy you have such progress in writing! I'm envious. I decided it's time to get my butt in gear. I need to make myself a morning and evening routine and make the most of my free time. Although, I too am a lazy sod and count sleep as being productive. If only I got stars for that! HA!

OH! AND guess what came in the mail yesterday?! The Wise Man's Fear, the long anticipated sequel of The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. And it came signed!! I've been rereading the first book and can't wait to get to the second one. Did they release it out by you yet?

We do get a lot of pop-ups for scripts on pages and pop-ups/ads. I don't download any shifty attachments, though, so any malware must come in of its own accord. The filthy buggers ( ... )

The Wise Man's Fear was released this month in hardback, by the way :P I can't wait to get a copy and start reading it! I think I'll have to reread The Name of the Wind first! How epic is that going to be?! :D

I'm enjoying the reread. He put up a cartoon summary because people apparently didn't want to reread or something. That's so WRONG. lol. I'm sure the Wise Man will be worth the wait though.

Maybe the malware comes in from your siblings. Have you checked them for cooties lately? I believe cooties and malware come hand in hand these days.

HAHA. Grades for sleeping would be awesome. But I'm so inconsistent, I'd probably fail too. Bah.

How long did it take for you to get settled into a routine?

HAHA! I read the comic - it was hilarious :') But I'll still reread the book like a creepy obsessed minion because it's so detailed. That's what I love about Patrick Rothfuss' writing; it's so dense and poetic and three-dimensional but accessible. You feel the world though the words. It's brilliant.

We have this theory that I bought my brother Ashley off e-Bay, so perhaps something dodgy came with him. Probably a malware lure, so every computer he touches is automatically condemned. And since Nathan does a load of downloading (malware feeds off the residual energy from the downloading process) they've begun to associate him with food and that's another reason they keep coming in. Perhaps I need to conduct some scientific research on the matter...

I'd take my sleeping A-Level again. I passed my GCSE with flying colours. It was when I got into college that I became insomniac/semi-nocturnal.

'How long did it take for you to get settled into a routine?' - I can't remember exactly - between two weeks and a month when I wasn't working ( ... )
