Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley (PSP)
My biggest problem is actually rain. I can easily send animals into or out of the barn and chicken coop with the bell; however, staying inside the barn for too long may mean that a cow or horse decides to go running outside into the rain (I guess the chickens don't have enough strength to muscle the door open). There are three cows and one horse inside the barn, and I have something like twenty seconds of real time before they all decide to start milling around. I've been extremely careful not to push any of them toward the door, but that doesn't matter much when they just decide to waltz out on their own.
So I've chosen to give up brushing and talking to the cows when it rains. They are already producing large milk, so I'll be losing more by allowing them the time to go out in the rain and get angry. (This also means that the first thing I do is run to take care of the animals. That way, if one of them makes a break for it, I can reload the game and try again.)
On the plus side, I discovered that I have access to two of the ten mining caves right now. I can mine twice a day, if I have enough stamina. Unfortunately, my abysmal luck means that I still haven't upgraded anything other than the rucksack (no ore needed) and the fishing pole (silver ore needed, not a blue rock).
ETA: I finally got a blue rock, upgraded to the final Ultra Axe, and the game crashed. It's a very, very bad idea to resume play after the power has been turned off; eventually, entering a new area will cause the PSP to lock up. *sigh*
