Road Trip Day Two

Feb 03, 2008 20:37

Day two of our road trip Florida. This morning we were greeted to dense fog in central Illinois. The fog was so thick it was hard to see the car in front of us as we drove. We left Tuscola around eight and made it to the Paducah area in Kentucky in time for lunch. At that point mom and I decided to switch driving duty and I took over for a few hours letting mom handle all the driving through the mountains. I was glad mom had decided to take over driving duty because I was getting quite tired and it was affecting my driving. I tried to stay awake as long as I could but it was of no use because the moment I reclined my seat back I fell asleep and forty-five minutes later I awoke to rain in the mountains. Kentucky soon became Tennessee and we continued our drive towards Nashville. We passed through Nashville and were then on to Georgia which then became Tennessee and then Georgia again. Yes you have to pass through Georgia to get to Tennessee to get to Georgia. It's an odd little drive on I 24 but a nice one. After a second break for gas I broke out my computer and watched some Mushishi episodes for a while as we reached the Atlanta area. Mom decided to go around Atlanta because going through Atlanta is a pain in the butt. After we got through Atlanta we decided to find a place to spend the night. Thank goodness for WIFI. I missed most of the Super Bowl and all the ads but we did catch the halftime show during dinner. Tom Petty is always good but that beard of his has got to go. Anyhoo, I should be going. I will be on again tomorrow night for chatting. We should finally be in Fort Myers by then.
