Happiness is a storm surge

Katrina is over and I stopped watching the news last weekend. My heart is a bit broken.

Dragon*Con was fantastic! 20,000 people attended. I hightly recommend it to anyone who has even the smallest sliver of nerdness buried some where inside them. Ah, did the nerds come out or what. Before Dragon*Con high school, Ft.Awesome, and Satori were the only places I saw a large gathering of nerds. And even then, there weren't that many of us. Have you ever felt out of place because you weren't dressed like a storm trooper or a glittery fairy?

I met and talked with Peter Mayhew and Betsy Palmer! Meeting Chewbacca and the mother of Jason Vorhees was just something else. I unfortunately did not see Dean Stockwell or any of the cast of Serenity. I did, however, meet Ken Foree of the origianl Dawn of the Dead. I also missed seeing Gene Loves Jezebel (Yes, Gene Loves Jezebel). There was just too much going on.

Dragon*Con, if nothing else, was a great boost to my self esteem. If I learned anything, I should flaunt my looks more often for all the free stuff.

I was invited to a book release party while there for White Wolf Publishing and Integria Printing.

My friends and I found an Orange Julius in the food court of a nearby mall. I was so excited. I haven't had an orange julius since I was in first or second grade.

Dragon*Con was the perfect escape. All you nerds out there should go next year. Sept. 1st-4th.
