So...I'm seriously thinking of quitting WoW within the next week or so.
It was not what was done for the Corpsegrinder shit. It is based on Blizzard's response to it. Whether or not that piece of trash meant it as a 'joke' or not, I am more appalled at Blizzard's lack of reaction on this.
From a moral standpoint...I CANNOT give my money to a company that honestly believes that it's ok to joke about calling half of their player base 'whiny emo cocksuckers that should kill themselves'. If they had actually watched the video before they played it...oh wait...they did and said they were laughing themselves to tears. I just...that is not what I pay money for. FFS, I know that Blizz is heavy in the Horde lavishing department, but there's a difference in doing that in game...and endorsing someone from a band that has a bunch of high level blizz employees in to go up in a public venue for that company where over 75k people were watching it (both in person and virtual) and spew that.
If they could just say 'we do not endorse this behavior or language' I could be fine with that...but all they've said since this is 'we thought it was funny, it was only meant as a joke'. What they can't seem to understand is that...THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT DO NOT FIND THIS AS A JOKE. All it takes is one person to think it isn't funny to make it not.
I am not alone in my decision. I know that my good friend Justin (Ali to those in my guild) is deeply offended by this and the whole LGBT fiasco and has been talking to me about getting him into Rift because of it. I can say, that I'm seriously thinking of joining him and going to Rift alone.
If and when this does happen...I know I am going to miss my family in the guild so much.
