Okay, this weekend I went to Tyler, Texas to visit James' family. It was the first time I would meet his parents and I was really nervous, see previous post. So while driving I was thinking about how I should be on my best behavior and what I should say and whatnot and before I knew it I was there! I actually made it there without getting lost it was so great!
James called me and walked out to meet me which was really cool and then I walked into his house with all my stuff and his dad was standing in the kitchen, first room after entering the house, waiting to meet me. Talk about surprizing and awquard. So I met his dad and then James helped me take my stuff into his room which was my room for the weekend. James slept in the computer room on the futon. Then his mom came home and I met his mom and we had dinner. I met his little brother Daniel, who I call D, and his older sister Laura and her husband Keith and her stepsons, Eric and Brian. The family talked about Eric's b-day party on Saturday and decided that we'd all meet at Laura's at 2 pm. So we all went to sleep. Got up Saturday and James and I went to Target for Eric's b-day present. Got him some hot wheel cars as an us gift and he really liked them. I got to help Laura decorate Eric's cake which was cool. She actually asked me to help with it so...yeah.
After the party, James and I went back to his parents house and watched Advent Children. (Side note: GREAT MOVIE!!!!!) Then we had dinner and went to D's football game. It was so much fun! His whole family was there and we all talked and laughed and had a great time. It was the school's first home game ever since this is thier first year of football so of course they got creamed but it was really funny 'cause I had to keep explaining the rules to them and it was a hoot. James and I then tried to stay up and watch Equilibrium but only made it half-way through the movie before going to bed.
Sunday we went to church and then his dad took us all out to Red Lobster. We had so much fun talking and laughing and teasing each other it was great. Then we went back to the house and James and I hung out while his mom and dad napped and then James and his dad washed his car and then we talked and they had cheesecake while I got packed and ready to go. James and I then started to leave when his dad pulled him aside. I sat back down and then James asked if he could have my keys. I thought this was strange but gave them to him anyway and Jame's dad went and put gas in my car. Filled it up! This is something that he only does for family members! (James told me last night) Then we all said good bye and Mr. Taylor prayed for James and me and then the family went inside.
James and I hugged by my car and then he turned to go back to his car. I called him back and met him halfway and gave him another hug and told/asked him, 'You know I love you right?' He said yes and I kissed his cheek and then we got in our cars to leave. I had problems with mine but eventually got started driving. I called James to say bye and he asked me to pull over so I did. He met me by my car and said he had a weird request to ask but if he didn't he felt he'd never have the chance again. I looked at him funny and he said, 'I'm going to kiss you.' He waited a few seconds and I said, 'okay.' He looked at me and smiled and said, 'okay?' and I said, 'okay.' He then very quickly (this should have been caught on film it was so perfect) pulled off my hat and kissed me! :D *does happy dance* Yes Katrina finally got her first REAL kiss. Then we hugged again and he kissed me one more time and said, 'that was for the road.' and we said goodbye and came back to school.
Now get your head's out of the gutter, it wasn't a tonsle hockey kiss but a sweet kiss. No tonge involved. I know this may not constitute a kiss for you but it does for me. I feel so great! Everybody here says I look different but I don't think I do. James thinks it may be extra confidence or something like that but I dunno. Well, that's all I got for now.
Ja ne!
