HELLO EVERYONE!!! *waves arms* I’M BAAAAAAAAACK!!! :D
I’m so sorry I disappeared! I seriously meant to write an entry before I went to university, I even meant to write an entry the day of my birthday to write down all my feelings before my departure, but I had so much stuff to do during the last weeks of August! I literally spent my time going out, coming home to eat, going out again and coming home again to sleep - all that repeated for two weeks! We had to prepare and buy all the stuff I needed to live away from home and, needless to say, that took quite some time. I really wanted to pop up here and write, but I seriously didn’t have time to do it. I wrote this entry during the Christmas holidays and I meant to post it, but again, didn’t have time to do it because freaking EVERYONE wanted to see me during those three weeks and I was going everywhere to meet people and then I also had to go to the doctor to get something cured and asdfghjkl various tl;dr which kept me from posting this.
BUT NOW I WANT TO POST THIS ENTRY, BECAUSE I HAVEN’T UPDATED MY LJ IN MONTHS AND I MISS YOU GUYS AND I WANT TO TELL YOU EVERYTHING. /breathes
First of all, I am so, so, so, so, SO HAPPY of my choice. I LOVE the university, I love the people, I’m enjoying my course so far and generally, I love everything about it! I love the campus and I like my room. My flatmates are all nice, the people in my course are all nice (and all from different countries, it’s so amazing!) and I like the teachers as well. It’s great, even better than I thought it would be. Half of the people in my university are all from different countries, so I pretty much meet people from every part of the world (in particular Europe and Asia), which is probably what I love the most about my university. I’m not the only Italian there - there’s also another girl which is younger than me, but she’s studying something else.
I like the course, as well. I am studying Law, as most of you already know, and I was very glad to see that it’s not just a “memorise stuff” course (which is pretty much how Law is taught in Italy), but something that stimulates us and makes us think outside the box - it makes us realise what’s positive and what’s negative about the law, the government, the various authorities, etc. I find it really engaging. I’m also doing criminal law this semester, which I love to pieces!
As for exams, I had three exams in December, although I only did two, because I was really ill and couldn’t do the third one (but it was okay, the teacher just told me to submit my medical certificate and they would treat it as a medical absence. He already has a good number of marks because of all the tests and essays we had during the year, so I’m not worried). They all went okay and I passed them all. :D
Scotland is so freaking gorgeous. It’s like civilisation and globalisation didn’t completely reach it yet - there are cities and towns, but the nature is still there, untouched by men. I don’t seem to have much trouble with the accent, I think I got used to it. To be fair, I have yet to meet someone with a very thick Scottish accent. Also, I LOVE the Scottish accent. ♥ I didn’t think I would have liked it, but I may like it even more than the British accent, if that’s possible! The slang is also getting to me, I say “aye” (which is “yes”) and “cheers” (which is “thank you”) a lot, lol. XD
And, last but not least, another big news is… I finally got a boyfriend. ♥ I really wasn’t expecting something like this. I never thought I’d get a boyfriend pretty much as soon as I got here. His name is Andrew, he was born in England but he’s lived in Scotland practically his whole life. He younger than me - he’s 18, he’s got blond hair and deep blue eyes. I know - prince charming, much? I never thought I would get a blond boyfriend with blue eyes - I thought they existed only in fairytales. XD But yeah… apparently they do exist and I was lucky enough to get one. I don’t know what else to say, except that we are very happy together and we are the classic example of “opposites attract” - he loves math and physics (needless to say I have a very troubled relationship with math XD), we sometimes like very different music and films, we have different hobbies (he loves playing guitar and climbing - and we all know how much scared of heights I am!) - and the list goes on. Yet, somehow, we work. He’s always there when I need him, he’s been there all the times I’ve been sick since I came here and every time I feel kinda sad because I’m away from home he’s always been there to listen to me, hug me and give me a shoulder to cry on (quite literally). He is so amazing. ♥
So yeah… point of this entry is, life couldn’t get any better than this, really. I love the uni, I love Scotland, I’m in love with my boyfriend - I’m really happy right now. It’s like… I finally started living my life to the fullest, as weird as it may sound.
As for fandoms, I started playing Final Fantasy XIII (thanks to Andrew, who has got a PS3) and I’m liking it so far. I’m at chapter 5, if I remember correctly and my favourite characters are Lightning (no surprise there), Hope, Sazh and Fang - although I do like everyone in the game. I like the fighting system and the characters - not to mentions the visuals, which are stunning and beautiful!
Well, I think that’s enough for one entry. I will try and update this journal more, because I really don’t want it to die and I really want to keep in contact with all of you guys! I was thinking of changing layout as well. By the way, I noticed the username ‘chibichan’ became available on LJ and I was thinking of changing my username so there aren’t numbers in it anymore. It’s very tempting… we’ll see. :D
Enough about me! How have you guys been? I really want to know how you’re all doing! I hope everything’s going well for you, too! Love you all! ♥
