Update

Doesn't hurt to keep in touch with the world, right? Not much to report. I'm studying for the last 2 mid year exams. Thankfully it's down to the written ones now. Probably why I'm not so worried about them. The practical ones are the scary ones. Then again, these two are own an hour long each. Which makes me a but suspicious. How much can they realistically assess in only an hour? I'll either be pleasantly surprised or struggling to finish lol.

Unfortunately I am typing this from the 'permanently on loan' teeny tiny little note book thing as my PC is not in useable condition. I dunno. I left the room for 5 minutes to make a cup of tea and next thing I know the video card craps out by the looks of things. Long story short the PC works but we can't get a picture on the screen. I've connected the little notebook to the house internet so I'm not accidentally piggybacking of the neighbour's wifi and I was able to download lecture notes from the uni website. All is not lost! Heh. Hopefully we can get the PC up and running again soon, though. I'm not sure how my supervisor will take technical issues as an excuse for not having a literature review draft ready for her by the agreed upon date.

As for the research project, I am getting desperate. Who would have thought finding people with young children would be so hard? I managed to offload a few to Mum's workmates but she's on leave now to look after Dad so that possibility has dried up. Bleh. Hopefully the supervisor is having more luck with the cochlear implant kids. I still have only a fuzzy idea how I'm going to analyse the data. Oh well, it will all come together, I'm sure.

On to the good news!!! First up, Dad's knee replacement surgery a few weeks ago was successful and he is now recovering well at home. He's only been home a week and is already moving a lot faster and getting more movement out of the knee than when he first came home. Hopefully he will continue to make good progress. Also, I have purchased my ticked and organised my cosplay for a convention coming up in August. So excited! I only booked for one day though for a few reasons. I may have at least one friend going with me so yay things! Also looking forward to exams being over and me being on break for 5 weeks. Five glorious weeks in which I will hopefully make progress in cleaning out/organising the mess I call my room, get the car services, pick up some extra work to pay for all the various technological breakdowns (need to replace my old phone in addition to the PC's video card). I could do with a few bits and bobs as well but depending on how much the aforementioned technological considerations set me back I may have to make do for a bit longer.

I also have some outfits I want to try and some shoes I desperately need to wear in. Oh, and I suppose I should catch up with some friends at some point perhaps. Never a dull moment 'round here!
