Work, work

So, I have one, and possibly two jobs now.

First, I am working at Chili's again as a To-Go Specialist. That means I take and bag up to-go orders in addition to getting people to pay for it. I can still pick up server shifts as I will do a day of server training. I am making $8.50 an hour + tips so it's decent money. I will hopefully be part time (i.e. 3-4 shifts a week) and actually only work like three days tops (prefer to work doubles).

Second, I am probably going to take a job tutoring. This job is awesome in that it pays more, and I can kind of pick hard dates that I can tutor (I'm thinking Tues, Wed and Thurs). It actually wouldn't officially start until Jan 23 (because of winter break then my little vacation to Michigan). That means I'd have all of the next three and half weeks to save up money, pay some bills and go see my darling. I'd come back and have my second, well paying job.

In other news, I've decided not to enlist right away. If at all. I'm going to wait until the end of the year to tell my recruiter. I feel bad. And I'm not sure when I'll tell my family. But here are the following reasons:

1) I don't want to be stuck in something that I may not like. I realize now, I joined to get out of my lease. And I'm scared of making that kind of commitment. I want to be married by the time I'm thirty, with children. Being the military won't stop that, but it certainly won't help my marriage.

2) My family needs me. My sister in law is struggling financially and I know I can help her if I moved in (which I don't mind doing). With my grandma not doing well and everyone struggling with money and health problems, I just want to have the freedom to be able to travel when needed.

3) I want to finish school. I've been thinking about this for a while and I'm want a degree. I'm too close to keep putting it off. I can get my scholarship back. That means at least 75% tuition paid. I can finish my degree in a year, tops.

4) I have jobs that pays the same as I would be making the military for fewer hours. At the wages I'll be making tutoring and doing to-go, I'll work MAYBE 35 hours a week and still make just as much per month. Neither job requires such a heavy commitment that I couldn't get out. Obviously, with the tutoring, leaving mid school year/semester would be frowned upon, but it also only a 6 month commitment.

I'm sure there are other reasons. In fact I know there are. The guys I'm seeing plays a small role in my decision to not enlist. But I'm not packing up and hurrying to go live with him or telling him "OMG, I <3 U! Come move to FL." At the same time, after I get my bachelor's I can always go into the officer program if the military interests me. Any thoughts? Questions? Opinions?

I just hate knowing I have several paths before me. All offering different things, all wonderful things. I know that the best thing for me to do would be to pray. I really should. Anywho, hope all is well with everyone else. <3 and miss everyone. I'll be around.
