not too hot to blog
I finished the HP book! Not sure exactly what to say except:
- the epilogue was written by a fanfic writer... it had to have been.
- boo to the death of Tonks! What made matters worse was that it was just a side thought.
- there are still too many loose ends. I hope JK writes up that encyclopedia she was talking about.
G and I also went to see the HP movie. Quite good, but I liked the design of the previous dementors. Luna, Umbridge, Tonks (maybe, she barely talked!), and Bellatrix (ditto for Tonks) were cast SO WELL.
Work has been going on. The kids were off last week, so I just had adult classes and a few teens. It's been so hot here, leaving me restless and not able to sleep well. However, G got the air conditioner back in the other day, so I have been able to sleep quite soundly.
Wedding plans are also going quite well! The NZ side is starting to reach completion for this stage (reservations, research, bookings, but the US side is still in the research phase. I have a feeling that the NZ side is going to be bigger than expected, but that's ok!
Still thinking of dresses. I have it down to two (I think...), so check back at my post a couple back and help me out if you haven't yet!!!
Today is obi practice day. This weekend is our area's Tanabata Festival. It's huuuuge and a ton of fun. To go along with festival traditions,G and I will be wearing our yukata. So, I have to practice tying the obi. Also, the other day, G and I went to a moving sale for a local kimono fabric shop. We found some awesome sophisticated (but colorful!) material for cheeeeap... and the place makes custom kimono. Now, if you know anything about kimono, you know that is is expensive. However, this one was really cheap (almost a steal). We went for the 3-season version so that I can wear it more. Might even bring it for my wedding change outfit, but we'll see. :)
