So, Chloe and parental unit 1 dropped me off at Yorkdale at 2:00 today to catch the 3:00 Northland out of there to head home. Lots of time right? should have been. I got there, got my ticket, and at 2:45 went and stood at the platform and was the second person in line. 3:00 shows up, and goes, and at 3:30 it shows up late. Okay, half an hour, the marathon was today its kind of understandable I can deal.
Here's where it goes wrong:
1. The driver decides that instead of taking the people at the front of the line, he's going to take North Bay passengers only and that 'another bus would be sent for overflow right away'. Which in my experience with bus lingo is half hour fourty minutes, okay... I can deal... I guess. half hour is still better than waiting for the 7pm bus which is the next and last bus to Orillia at this point.
2. 4:15 the guy working in the ticket wicket made the announcement that our bus would arrive at 4:30. FINALLY. well 4:30 came and went, and so did 5:00, and at 5:15 we are informed that they don't know where the bus went..... WTf?! So at 5:40 a Getaway bus (another company that generally only runs between Orillia and Barrie) shows up and tells us to get on that he's going as far as Orillia. While that's nice for me, there are people with me in line that need to get to Huntsville, Gravenhurst, and North Bay still. The driver has no idea what's going on. The response is "I'm taking everyone to Barrie and someone else will figure it out from there" GUH!!! SO I get on the bus with the worst case scenario seeing if Lorne or Mom can come get me from the Barrie terminal if this keeps up.t
3. Halfway to Barrie the driver asks me if I know how to get to the Barrie bus terminal....... hope has now died a little bit I think. So me and another passenger direct him to the terminal.
4. We get there and another bus driver directs our driver and confusion just gets worse. Our driver is told to go far as Gravenhurst (and does not know how to get to the Orillia terminal or the Gravenhurst terminal), there's ANOTHER bus taking people from Barrie to Orillia who were also conisdered 'overflow' and they're told they will transfer to an actual Northland bus somewhere, maybe. By this time it is now 6:30 I should be home by now. Chloe's mom could have driven me home and gotten back to Toronto by now!!
By the time I got back into Orillia at 7:00 the Northland bus still wasn't there, so everyone else is still sort of 'playing it by ear' and they'll transfer wherever the Northland bus catches up to them? WTF?!?!?!
I am NOT AMUSED
