The illusion of inter-racial dating......
At least that is what I am calling it. This is going to be a long read so I'm going to do a LJ-cut and it is up to you to click it and read the rest. A big note that this is purely speculative and from my personal experience and those around me so it may not hold true at all and I'm just a crazy asian guy :)
Feel free to comment on it or rebuttle my thesis, but please provide some reasoning why you don't agree... or agree :) (which might be rare heheheheheh)

First of all, I highly promote inter-racial dating. It is a good thing really. It will break down barriers over time (at least I hope) but of course in the process it could build more barriers depending on your families. I got into this conversation via a co-worker of mine and her perception of dating asian men (she is american) so... before we begin, I'm going to use some abreviation to save my poor hands from carple. plus I'm lazy hehehehehheeh...
AM - Asian Men
AW - Asian Women
EM - American Men
EW - American Women (no pun intended)
There are several perception of inter-racial dating and why people do them. I will try to explain myself as best as I can and still be wrong (I'm a guy afterall) but hey... this is my LJ space dang it! :)
The conversation stem from my co-worker is seeing a friend of mine who is asian. I told her generally that AW date EM because sometimes ASW are not familair with American culture and thus get "sucked" into it. Of course it is a totally different type of culture than what they are use to and thus might be happy with this arrangement. AM date EW because they are looking for different type of women in terms of Asian vs American. I personally married an american woman and very happy :) I did date a few asian but never seem to work out. I think because AW expecting more from AM because of similar culture. Of course I'm 1st generation American with one foot in the asian culture and the other foot American. Which a lot of time gets me into some serious trouble.
Of course there are many AM + AW and EM + EW work out great. I'm just stating what I see when we cross culture :) and why some people do it. One of the things I notice that my friends who are EM thinks that AW are easy target. They are "more innocent" and thus able to "mold them" to their needs...... a lot movies portray this. In retrospect, EW dates AM because they believe the men will treat them better than EM counterparts. Asian has a long line of respect in terms of family, social, and cultural. Of course there always some bad eggs on both camp and ruin for the rest of us, sometimes.
Of course another rumor is that AW believe that EM has large penis than AM. In some cases it might be true, but it is all relate to the size of the hand (or feet depend on what you believe) hehe.... but then again, you may have a large penis, but do you know how to use it? that is a question.
In terms of satisfaction in bed. both men camps need to learn how to please a woman. 3-5 minute deal ain't going to cut it. foreplay people! foreplay!!! :) Of course cuddling is also a good thing too. It kinda binds the relationship. Many men don't do this and kind "ruin" the women for other men. I know friends who swore off men because of poor bed technique......
anyways... this is just my brief view. I will probably edited to add more but right now I can't think of anything else at the moment. I had a huge thought in my head but it got away from me :(
