SINS 1/7

Under the heavy sun of june, a silent figure was watching the game being currently engaged. He kept a hand in front of his face to avoid the angry rays of the sun trying to blind his sight. The temperature was high but a light breeze was making it more bearable, gently ruffling light brownish hair. But even if the temparature outside had not been so hot, on the court, cheering would just have kept anyone on fire because of the intense playing. On the other side of the fence, just a few feet away from him, a slim player was powerfully sending back every ball coming at him, without any mercy for his opponent. Both of them did not seem to be aware of the heat, too caught in their challenge. Finally the result was announced, accepted by a deep melodramatic sigh by one side and a smirk on the other one.

" Game Seigaku Echizen"

"Mada mada da ne. It's Momo-sempai's turn to pay for the burgers."

Ryoma Echizen pulled his cap further on his sparkling golden eyes, sadistic little grin playing on his lips. Across from him, Takeshi Momoshiro was whining, cursing his bad luck but at least, he was rather happy that the game's stake had not been Inui's new special juice for the loser. Maybe he really should consider himself lucky even if his wallet was going to be emptied by all these regulars who seemed to have a hole instead of a stomach, especially Echizen and Kikumaru, and to be honest, himself too. But he had no time to yell after the one who won against him as the still shorter boy got attacked from behind by a blurry ball of energy.

"Nya, Ochibi, arigato!!! You made it! Now Evil Momo-kun has to treat us! Eiji-sempai is so proud of you!"

The ever happy red haired kept on chocking his shorter kouhai. Old habits never die though Ryoma who was always acting so cool before, had loosened a bit over the past three years. Once Ooishi delivered the suffocating teen from the death grip, aka 'hug' of his boyfriend, the poor victim allowed a smile to grace his lips despite the fact this action went unnoticed from all because the dark haired teen kept his head lowered; yet it did not escape the attention of the figure spying on them.

Lazily tucking a chestnut strand behind his ear, he grinned at Ryoma's smile. Problably more than anyone else, he knew about the boy. Ever since the "ochibi" had arisen his interest in him, he had never failed to collect data. What had first been pure curiosity, had soon developed into fascination, infatuation, maybe even obsession.

When Ryoma had entered Seigaku, he had not really given a damn about it. Of course, it had been quite surprising to see a young boy being able to play like that. But the trigger had been the 'secret' play between Tezuka against the golden eyed teen. From this very moment, Echizen had begun to evolve, his tennis skills as well as his personality, into something which caught Syusuke Fuji's interest.

And the "friendly" game they had played under the rain ... Even now, just thinking about it was still sending delighted shivers down his spine. The intensity he had felt that day had been so thrilling. He knew too that he had now Ryoma's attention, the same way their buchou had captured their kouhai's eyes. Yet Fuji wanted more. He wished the shorter boy only saw him, which was why he had kept his other moves hidden, reveling them only when he had judged it being the right moment.

That way, he had kept Ryoma's eyes on him, slowly feeding his sense of challenge, and he knew the black greenish haired boy still wanted to defeat him, kind of like his little brother, yet totally different at the same time.Even if Syusuke no longer belonged to the tennis club, Echizen still kept him on his " people's ass to beat" list, which always made the Tensai smile. Oh yes, he might have dropped tennis at school but he still played whenever he felt he wanted to. Besides, his Otouto would have his skin if he really dared to totally let go of tennis.

When he entered High School, he joined the photography club. What had been a hobby really became his passion and he excelled in it, being able to capture the very being of his subjects. And the past two years had seen his collection of pictures of the young 'Tennis no Oujisama' growing up quite nicely. Not even Shiba-san could claim to have such beautiful snap shots of the wild teenager. Who could really say he would be able to understand the enigma known as Echizen Ryoma? No one except himself, because he too was an enigma for other people therefore he knew Ryoma's own mechanisms. And the pictures he had of the burnt bronze eyed prodigy, no one else would see them, for they were his only, his precious treasure.

Never ever had the Tensai been so interested in any one, never had he wanted to get something or someone so badly. Not even Yuuta could brag about making him that needy. Patiently, Syusuke Fuji had built, like a spider, his net around his unsuspecting prey. And this year, he intended to claim what was his, according to him. Echizen's skill really had many people revolving around him. They were attracted to him, friends or enemies, they all crossed his path and slowly burnt their way into the teenager's life. But the ever smiling Tensai was quite exclusive. He had been coveting his kouhai for long enough and really intended to appease the ever growing hunger that was consuming him.

Fuji needed to possess Ryoma, he needed him to belong to him, to cherish him not like a porcelain doll but like a prize. He wanted to make him his in every way possible, so that no one would ever touch him except himself. He wanted to own Ryoma's existence, to rule his life, to become as important as the air he breathed or the water he drank, or even just like his obssession with tennis. Right, Fuji wanted to put his ownership on Ryoma and become the snarky teenager 's world. The Tensai was slowly sinking into his first sin, the one known as 'GREED' and he did not even fazed him. On the contrary, it only seemed to increase his manipulative and sadistic side.

"Fuji-sempai!" A loud voice from across the court stirred him from his dazed state. Slowly uncurling his fingers from the fence, he grinned back at the bouncing Kikumaru, who was waving at him while telling the older young man to come with them at the burger restaurant, treat being graciously offered by Momo-kun. It was high time to make his move. Smiling, he join the others, greeting them all with his happy smile and closed eyes. Had they been opened, any one would have seen determination burning into them.

When Ryoma's turn arrived, the smile on the kitsune-like boy and the strange sparkle shinning behind the nearly totally closed eyes made him shiver. Fuji-sempai was up to something. His smile, rather his grin, was somehow predatory and his face clearly showed the enigmatic boy was feeling quite happy with himself. And to tell the truth, Ryoma who was always so cocky, well, he was not sure he wanted to know Syusuke's intentions. Had he known, he would have ran away, or maybe not...
