THANK YOU GOD QUALITY ANIMATED FILMS HAVE BEEN NOMINATED!!! Notice all 3 films are traditionally made, no CG pop culture infested bullshit! Thank you thank you thank you people of the Oscars for sending the right message to the animation community!!! I support all 3 films and as much as I would love to see Howl's win, Wallace and Gromit has a 99% chance of taking home the gold. Howl's was beautifully animated but it was far from Miyazaki's best, I would only want to see it win so it can increase awareness of quality anime. It's awesome to see 2 stop motion films in the race, I don't think that's happened in years. Please dear god make this be a punch in the face to Disney, Dreamworks, and all the other companies relying 100% on pop culture to support their films. CG films are great and I don't see them as a way to kill traditional animation, but it's bullshit when people are making shitty movies and relying on the "ooo" factor of CG animation to make a profit. I hope all the companies who rely on the "ooo" factor take this as a wakeup call
In other news I had a job interview with EBX yesterday, it went well so hopefully I'll have a job when Suncoast closes
