I have some issue with this one because it keeps saying 'allegedly', as if there is no actual evidence on the case. This makes me wonder if they were keeping it hush-hush and it was purely the deputy against the rest, or what - and the comments quoted make it feel like the whole thing was just to smooth over differences for the sake of preventing bad press rather than actually being apologetic to Cooley for the wrongful deed. But, it's the media, so they may have just left things out, or not felt it was a strong article so done a half-arsed job on it. It's good that the sheriff's department actually put it in writing, though!
