Hotch looked at Strauss while Reid opted to avoid her gaze altogether. While they weren't technically doing anything regulations, getting caught having a late dinner together in Hotch's office with everyone else already gone wasn't the best situation to have your superior walk in on.
That being said, Aaron Hotchner wasn't one to be intimated by his superiors. Especially not Erin Strauss, even if she did mean well.
Without missing a beat, Hotch picked up the file he was working on. "Reid was helping me with a few things." Despite his name being mention, it seemed Reid was wishing he hadn't come at all.
"Right. And the food?"
"We got hungry." Finally finding his voice, Reid turned to look at Strauss as he spoke. "I went and got take out a few minutes ago." There was a false confidence in his voice.
Strauss regarded them for a moment before speaking again. "Well, whenever you two are done, drop those files off at my office." Both Hotch and Reid nodded their understanding. As Strauss left, she called out over her shoulder for them not to leave a mess.
Reid watched her leave the bullpen through the office windows, making sure she was gone before speaking again. "Why would she want those files?"
Hotch shrugged his shoulders as he leaned back in his chair. "You know how she is." Reid hummed slightly before taking another bite of his dinner as if nothing had happened. Hotch watched him for a moment, wondering how he got so lucky. Sure, his team had set the two of them up on a blind date. A very awkward blind date, but that was only the first step. One date only opens the door. Walking through that was another matter.
Somehow, both men had managed to make it this far. To an outsider, their relationship didn't seem like much. They rarely kissed, or even touched for that matter. Neither had stayed over at the other man's apartment. And they only dated on weekends when they hadn't had a case. But considering that Hotch had been a heterosexual relationship for nearly half of his life, and Reid wasn't one to get close with anybody, they were doing great.
It was hard for both men to be in a relationship with another man, but they didn't complain. They were happy where they at. Reid wanted to take things slow, in case either one of them had doubts, and Hotch didn't want to rush the younger man. It was comfortable.

After Hotch had finished the last file, despite Reid constantly distracting him, and dropped the file off at Strauss' office, Hotch went back to his office to see Reid had finished cleaning the take out containers from his desk. "All cleaned up I see." Reid nodded while smiling, he was quite proud of how fast he managed to clean everything up.
Hotch walked over to his desk, grabbing his keys and briefcase. "We should get going then." Reid followed Hotch out of his office and to the elevator in silence. Hotch wanted to say something, anything, but he didn't know what. Eventually Reid started talking about Doctor Who, comparing the new series to what he had seen of the old. Not the first thing Hotch wanted to talk about, but it was better then silence.
By the time they had reached Hotch's car, Reid had somehow managed to convenience the older man to watch the new series of Doctor Who. They would watch the first season tomorrow at Reid's apartment, to make up for tonight Reid said. "I'll see you tomorrow." Reid smiled and waved slightly before turning to go find his own car.
Without thinking, Hotch grabbed Reid's arm and pull the younger man back towards him and kissed him. It was sudden, giving Reid little time to react. They kissed slowly, unlike their previous ones which had been nothing more than a quick peck on the lips. It was soft and sensual and over to quickly. Reid found himself wanting more, but Hotch spoke before he could voice his desire. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Ye-yeah, tomorrow." Reid walked backwards a few step while he spoke, waving goodbye. He turned around and hurried to his car, not wanting anyone to see how red his face had become.
Hotch got in his car, smiling as he watched Reid disappear from his car mirror. Yeah, they relationship was very comfortable.
