For the umpteenth time since he lay down to sleep, Dino sighed into the quiet of the room, this time with one hand covering his face, the heat of his breath trapped against his palm. He rubbed his nose and then his closed eyelidss with the heel of his hand like that might help, but it didn't.
He'd rearranged his pillow, punching it flat only to plump it up again.
He'd first kicked off the blanket, only to reach for it again and find himself rolling off the futon and onto his face on the floor.
He'd played with the Dreamberry for a bit, but nothing really struck his interest. He thought about checking in on Lloyd; poor kid seemed out of spirits and understandably so. He thought about shooting Tsuna a line, but then worried it might be too late to bother his cute little brother. For someone who'd spent a lot of time sleeping, he still needed to get his rest.
Finally Dino gave up on sleep. Frowning up at the ceiling, he untangled himself from the sheet and got up, leaving Enzio to warm the bed. Hahaha, well maybe not warm it...being a reptile and all. But he could do a fair job of watching over the space until Dino returned -- which given his sudden idea, might not be very long. The awkward grin he sent the turtle on his way out the door was a mixture of excitement and nerves.
"Wish me luck!" he called. Enzio looked less than enthused, clamping down on a corner of the sheet as the door clicked shut behind Dino.
The sound of his footsteps moving down the hall was of course anything but quiet, even before the self-conscious stumble just outside of Kyouya's room. That was probably enough to give away the displaced mafia boss, but Dino still harbored the delusion that he could sneak up on Hibari. In fact, if he was really lucky, maybe Kyouya was asleep and he could just slip quietly into the room and into his bed and...
Yeah, it was pure fantasy, from beginning to end, but Dino smirked to himself as he reached for the doorknob, twisting it and applying just enough pressure to open the door without a knock.
And he was in.
