[drabble ~300 words] Charles, that's a dreadfully normal name, but Xavier, that's a good one.
This is something that popped into my head, so I wrote it down to get it out of there.
Disclaimer: There's dialogue that draws off of things both from things said in Doctor Who and in First Class interpreted for the purposes of the fic.
“You know what I am,” Charles says, statement more than question, and he almost lowers the bat. Almost.
“Yes, of course I do, I know everything, but you don't know that about me yet, sorry, it gets a bit confusing. Let's talk about you first. Three strangers appear out of nowhere in your home and you come downstairs with a wooden bat. But you can tell that we have no intention to harm you. Well, you can tell Amy and Rory have no intention to harm you since you can see inside their heads.”
Rory starts to say, “What are you -“ but Amy puts her hand on his arm and shakes her head so he stops.
“You can't see inside mine, and that's a new feeling for you,” the bow-tie man continues, smiling. “New is interesting, it's surprising, and it's not something you get that often having telepathy and all, at least not when it comes to conversations.”
“Are you the same as me?” Charles asks, feeling, in a rush, hopeful. It must show on his expression, since the bow-tie man stops smiling as brightly and his tone is gentler.
“No, sorry. Further removed than that, far, far removed,” he says. “But you aren't alone. Don't think for a moment that you're alone. Terrible feeling, that one, no fun at all.”
The words take a moment to sink in; Charles has always thought there were others like him out there, is disappointed that this mad bow-tie man isn't one of them, but the conviction with which he says the words almost makes up for that. “I should have introduced myself. I'm Charles Xavier.”
“Charles, that's a dreadfully normal name, but Xavier, that's a good one. Where have I heard that before... I'm the Doctor.”
“Just that? The Doctor?”
“Really says all you need to know."

I have another random scene written on the back of a napkin about tiny!Charles having a conversation with the TARDIS, and I want to write one between him and Amy and Rory, but I don't know what else this would be other than that.
