Good ol' xmas is just about here.
I'm pumping xmas music directly into my brain to keep my holiday cheer intact.
It's been rough. Money is tighter this time of year than it has been since I was a wee lil boy. I remember my mom buying the cheap little Matchbox car knock-offs that came in a big pack and wrapping them individually. My mom always made sure we had stuff for xmas, even when times were tough. It makes me wonder what she sacrificed.
My mom finally moved up to Oregon this year, so this will be the first xmas that I'll have spent with her in ages. She essentially moved up here so she wouldn't miss watching Owen grow up first hand. Now that's grandmotherly devotion.
All in all, things are pretty good if I take a moment to remember why.
I have a decent job.
I am in good health and decent shape.
I am surrounded by friends and loved ones.
I have a beautiful, healthy son.
I have a great girlfriend.
I am loved.
There is snow on the ground right now.
