Admission letters have come back from colleges, and I'm slighly disappointed about Virginia Tech. I mean, they didn't really even send their letter on time, and I had to call them after the deadline to find out I wasn't accepted. Its not as big of a deal to me now as it was at first, cause we're all pretty sure what one of my main reasons of wanting to go there was, even if it was just wishful thinking. But I actually genuinely loved the campus. Its spacious, clean, green, and lively, if a campus can be call those things. Also, everyone was so nice. Even the lady who told me I wasn't accepted was nice, well kinda. As nice as one can be in that situation, I suppose. So much different from Georgia Tech. For those of you who can't read minds, I went to Georgia Tech for the first year of college, absolutely hated it, did horribly, and dropped out. I remember taking those surveys they gave you in high school to find out what kind of college you wanted to go to and my ideal college was mid sized, slightly liberal (or at least not horribly conservative), in a rural area, with cool weather, maybe somewhere in the north or midwest. Instead, I went to Georgia Tech, a huge, crowded campus in the exact middle of Atlanta where the tinted glass of the skyscrappers reflect the sun's heat onto your head during the summer, and sludge rain drizzles in the winter, while hobos wander into girl's dormitories and crazies hold up giant signs in the middle of campus that reads: "Jesus died for your sins, but you're going to hell anyways" (truth). Silly silly georgia tech.
Anyways, long story short, if you skipped the rant, I'm going to University of Maryland! Its a great school, just has a weird aura to it. Like how about every month I hear about someone dying there. Either a tornado rips through campus, or there's shootings, or the school loses a game and there's riots, or the school wins a game and there's riots, or fires, etc. So, all in all, it sounds like a hoot. umd yay! Plus, a terrapin is probably a better mascot than either a wasp or a neutered turkey. Zing! Now I have to stress and stuff cause its out of state and costs a whole lot. Crappity crappity crap crap.
