I haven't posted anything for a fair while, so you may be somewhat unsettled to learn that the reason for my sudden urge to do so was an X-Men movie.
Yes, X-Men III, in fact. I went to see it today with Piri and Ben.
But why, I hear you say, would you feel the need to share that you went to see that? Well, let me tell you. It is true that when you go ( Read more... )

I almost fell out of my chair in laughter when they slipped that line into the movie. Nobody else in the theatre seemed to get it.

Also, the thing that bugged you the most was his pants? What about the fact that the Juggernaut supposedly is "unstoppable once he builds up momentum" except for all the momentum he has from the earth's revolution and motion through space and gravity and such, and even more local things like being inside a moving truck? They shouldn't have been able to get that truck moving once they put him inside, and they shouldn't have been able to stop it if they had.

I actually thought that scene where Wolverine is slowly disintegrating while his flesh reknitted itself was really well done. The effects team excelled in the whole movie, but that bit in particular looked spectacular.

I agree, spectacular it was. But as I said, there is plausible, and then there's plausible. I mean, by the same logic, how did the angel guy's wings grow back after he hacked them off with various implements as a kid? They're limbs! If I hack off my arms, they certainly don't grow back. The thing was, I sat there all the way through the movie going 'yep, I'll accept that. It makes no sense, but I'll accept it' for one thing after another, but I mean, that didn't even make sense in the context of the reality they created for the purposes of the movie. I mean, when Mystique turned into a regular human, *she* just ended up naked on the ground. What does the studio have against naked men?
