Ganked from eofs (thanks!), and somewhat abridged.

1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?

Give birth, stay in a hospital, and more things that aren't coming to mind.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

If you count myself as close, yes. :<)

4. Did anyone close to you die?

My husband's grandmother was the only death I'm aware of.

5. What countries did you visit?

None.

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?

A trip with just my husband and I. We shall see if this actually happens.

7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory and why?

8/19/11 - Little Wiggly was born.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

I'm not counting childbirth as an achievement. Sucessfully pulling off my job while essentially serving as 2.5 fulltime people.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Didn't get to finish the manual updates for 1 release before having to go out on maternity leave.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Illness - Pregnancy Induced Hypertension, which lead to two hospital stays after 2 seperate blood pressure spikes (which included the saving of much urine), being put on bedrest from week 32 on and ultimately being induced just after 37 weeks. Meh.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

The one thing? A baby gym. Seriously. SOmething that holds baby toys so I now can have time to pee and check email.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

Watching my husband with the little one has made me fall in love with him in a whole new way. :<)

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

The majority of commentors on any vaguely political news story. Scratch that - ANY news story.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Silly, but going to Disney World with my Mom, Aunt, and Cousin.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Happier
b) thinner or fatter? Fatter (meh)
c) richer or poorer? Daycare? Poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Spending time with Dr_co (the husband).

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Hanging out at home while feeling nauseated.

20. How did you spend Christmas?

My family Christmas Eve/early morn, Dr_Co's family for the remainder of Christmas. Same as years past, but now with added difficulty (little one)

24. What was your favourite TV programme?

New discovery of the year - Community. :<)

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

I don't hate people.

28. What did you want and get?

A healthy daughter.

29. What did you want and not get?

To go to San Francisco for a work conference and Sacramento to meet in person the people I work with on a daily basis. Unfortuantely I got put on bed rest a week before I was supposed to leave. Again, meh.

31. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?

Cheating and doing 2012, since 2011 was over a year ago at this point. Jan 1, 2012, 30 years old. Spent the day playing host at my parents' open house (and showing off my socialite of a daughter), then ate at Khans with some of my favorite people in the world. Not my first preference (I really wanted to throw a huge party, but the open house blew that plan out the window), and I really wish that Dr_co could have been there for it, but it was still good. :<)

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Being located in the Twin Cities metro area.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?

Thanks to being warm for the first time in my life, it involved finding the coolest maternity clothes I could find.

34. What kept you sane?

Texting with Dr_co when he was on call or working overnights.

37. Who did you miss?

My Grandmother. She died in 2005, but I know she would have loved to meet her great grandaughter (who was named for her).

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011.

Adjust your expectations. Adjust your expectations. Adjust your expectations! Recognize that some days a "win" will be managing to get a shower in.
