Since dr_co has this week off from work, I decided to take today off, too. I'm totally one of those people who loves Valentine's Day (or, to put it more correctly, one of those people who loves excuses to create special occasions), so it was pretty awesome.
Last night we checked into a hotel in our old neighborhood. There was a package I had found online that was a decent deal - it included a gift certificate for a steakhouse, along with champagne and chocolates in the room (I brought a ginger ale for moi). Getting the chance to hang out and chat with my husband when there were minimal distractions in the room? Awesome. This morning we cuddled in the hotel bed while watching a History channel program on the Valentine's Day Massacre. It was much more romantic than it sounds. :<)
Then, when we came back, he gave me the greatest gift of all - cleaning the three things that have been smelling especially bad - the kitchen, the cat food area, and the cat box. The house smells much, much, much better, and I don't heave every time I walk into the kitchen. Hurray!
