Not too much going on this week, still waiting on the CRB check, although I do have to go to my occupational health check on Monday and it's all the way in Chester! We would like to make a day of it, but we are skint and both have a dentist's appointment later in the afternoon. Grrrr.

Carl has entered his first marathon, he'll be running in Mablethrope on the 14th September. He's not doing it for charity, he just wants to do a smallish low key one for himself and I think he'll be doing the Buxton half too, although I'm not sure when that one is. I think his ultimate goal is to do the marathon in Antartica, which involves plenty of ice, pain and stopping at national science stations (eg. Chile, China) on the way around. It's fully booked for the next couple of years though and it's expensive to enter, he keeps saying he wants to spend one his student loan installments on it.

I'm learning to drive, well, I have been for a month or so now. I'm on the road, drving around in cricles. It's going as ok as can be expected, although I need to remember to take my foot off the clutch when needed.

Waterworld was good. I felt extremely self conscious about my figure, but was quite determined to go out and have fun. The slides and waves aren't nearly as big as I remember! Fiona, you would have been upset about all the bad tattoos people in Stoke have.

And that's about it. Nothing planned for the next few weeks. Going to see Sean Lock, start work, have a trip to Whitby and go to the fem08 conference in Sheffield soon, but that's all April. Quiet at the moment!
