This quote really caught my attention:
No one should be running for president of the United States saying that they are a good businessman, because a business is not run like a democracy. In a democracy everyone rules, and that's going to mean that there are inefficiencies. Efficiency is a virtue but it's not a democratic virtue... Autonomy is a democratic virtue, and when people do what they want to do, often they'll do things that are not the most efficient, don't make sense, don't make sense to others, don't make society run as efficiently as possible... freedom and efficiency are often at odds, and a business is run to minimize freedom and maximize efficiency. So you don't want your president to be a business person. You want them to be someone who is devoted to freedom and equality. You want them to be another one of us, not the CEO. -- Jason Stanley
