Title: Free Time
Part: 5/??
Pairing: Mark/Sabrina
Summary:A completely pointless day in the lives of Mark and Sabrina, with Derek along for the ride. Includes a new sport, along with mandatory snarky comments. : )
Comments: I think this is the most pointless thing I have ever written. But I'm posting it anyway, because it was fun to write, and hopefully it will be fun to read!
Disclaimer: I don't own them. Uh duh.

“I think I want to go bowling.”

Mark closed his eyes briefly and rolled over, trying to disappear into the sea of blankets. He knew she heard his muted moan under the comforter, and awaited her reaction.

“Mark. I said I think I want to go bowling.”

He rolled his eyes, even though he knew she couldn’t see them.  He finally pulled back the covers, to face his early morning intruder and squinted in the brightness of his room. Apparently she had taken the liberty to open his blinds as well. He was met with a bright eyed Sabrina, her face shining with enthusiasm, yet behind her eyes he could sense a slight annoyance at his unwilling attitude.

“Why are you here?”

The flicker of annoyance he had sensed before turned into a full on raging glare as he uttered the words tiredly. He dove back under the covers at the first sense of movement from her. It only took a few seconds for her to kick off her shoes and jump on top of him, landing with her elbows and knees hitting first.

He let out a grunt as all the air was knocked out of him, his face pressed firmly into his mattress, and her body shifting on top of his, making her limbs poke into him in an even more painful way. He finally found an out, as he managed to poke his head out from under the abyss of blankets and roll over, knocking her off of him. She fell with a thud onto the hard ground, her face masked with surprise.

Mark winced as he heard her fall, and crawled over to the edge of the bed, sympathy on his face. “Sorry baby. Are you okay?”

She wrinkled her nose as she tenderly touched her tail bone. Pain was evident on her face as she gingerly stood up. “Don’t you ‘baby’ me Mark Ballas.”

He smiled in spite of himself, and ducked his head to hide it. She was too quick though, as she caught the look just before his head disappeared into his pillow.

“Oh no...you did NOT just laugh.” she said as more of a statement than a question.

He looked back up at her, hoping his face was straighter than he felt it was. As she launched herself at him again, he realized he probably failed miserably in the faking department.

He caught her this time, as he was ready for her attack. Wrapping his arms tightly around her, he forced her down to the bed next to him, as she tried to fight him, by attempting to pound her fists into his chest. He grinned at her, as he threw one leg over her stomach and sat, holding her down.  “Like you can defeat THE Mark Ballas Jr.”

The look on her face was one of conflict, as she attempted to remain serious. As soon as he let go of her and flexed his arm muscles, she lost that battle. She reached out to squeeze his biceps, her silent giggles made her body shake, as she tried to regain composure.

“Yeah, you like that...” Mark replied to her laughter in a suggestive voice.

“Oh. My. God!”

Mark froze as he turned around slowly. He came face to face with a shocked Derek standing in his doorway. He laughed at the disgusted look on his face. “What are you doing in my room?”

Derek shook his head, covering his eyes comically and muttered,  “Good question.”

Mark felt Sabrina start to giggle again, and realized that their position was quite interesting at the moment. “Can I help you with something?” he asked Derek, but remained unmoving from his perch on Sabrina’s stomach.

Derek let out a groan as he peeked out in between his fingers. “Can you stop doing...” he motioned with his towards the couple, “...THAT?”

Mark shrugged as he climbed off Sabrina. “There. Is that better?”

Derek let out a sigh of relief as he slumped against the door frame. “Much.”

Sabrina sat up, attempting to fix her hair that had been rumpled by the mini wrestling match. “What do you want Derek?”

He faked a jump of fright. “So much hostility in this room.”

Mark rolled his eyes as he moved his fingers in a circular motion. “You were going to say...?”

Derek let out a huffy breath before answering, “I was wondering if you two grumpy pants wanted to go grab lunch.”

“As long as you never say grumpy pants ever again...” Mark started but was interrupted.

“Actually, Mark and I are going bowling.” Sabrina sat, an evil glint in her eye, as a wide smile spread over her face at Mark’s apparent irritation.

“What IS it with you and bowling today?” he asked, exasperated, only receiving a teasing shrug in response.

Derek pouted. “I wanna go.”

Sabrina’s smile grew even wider. “Great! Let’s go.”

Mark could only let himself be dragged from the room, silently cursing himself for having such an insane best friend. And an even crazier girlfriend.

He watched her walk slowly up to the lane, her face showing all of her concentration. He watched her extend her arm back, and wind up, letting go of the ball as she swung forward.

Then he watched as the ball rolled slowly right into the gutter.

“I suck!” she exclaimed as she turned around, her hands on her hips.

“No you don’t.” he answered, more out of loyalty than truth.

She narrowed her eyes. “Oh yeah? Well correct if I’m wrong, but I thought the ball was supposed to knock down pins!”

Mark picked up a bowling ball and walked up the lane, letting go of it casually, watching it roll smoothly all the way down the lane, knocking down eight pins in the process. As he teasingly dusted off his hands, he strutted past her, leaning in to whisper, “Watch and learn.”

She rolled her eyes, but hooked her thumbs into his belt loops anyway, pulling him back towards her, and leaned in. “I’m more of a hands on learner.”

He raised an eyebrow as he grabbed a ball and reached for her hands, leading her towards the lane. “Okay then...”

He lined her up, and showed her the proper way of releasing the ball to ensure it went in a straight path. He stood closely behind her, wrapping his hand gently around her wrist, motioning the way to swing. She turned her head, her nose bumping into his cheek. “This is reminiscent of our little golf date.”

He smiled and he pressed his cheek into hers as she turned her head back. “We’re quite the athletic couple aren’t we?”

She snorted. “Too bad I suck at bowling.”

“Yeah well, I sucked at golf. So now we’re even.” She giggled as he gave her a lingering kiss on the temple.

“I was gone for FIVE minutes...” they heard a loud voice whine from the table a few feet back.

“Shut up Derek.” they responded in unison.

“I can’t believe my score was twenty.” Sabrina pouted as they made their way out of the bowling alley.

“You got a little better...” Mark attempted to console her as he reached out for her hand, linking their fingers.

“Yeah...okay...” Derek chimed in dubiously, coming up behind them. He jumped out of the way as Sabrina whirled around, ready to smack him in the stomach. “Jesus, I’m surprised you’re still alive Mark. This one’s abusive.”

Mark chuckled to himself as he pulled Sabrina back from her attack, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “She’s just a little violent.” He answered, avoiding the glare she shot at him.

“I’m just competitive.” she replied defensively. “And I thought you guys were the Kings of Competition anyway.”

Derek put his hands up in surrender. “You don’t have to compete with me, sister. I’m too afraid of you to try and beat you in anything.”

Mark laughed at the look of fright on his face. “Sad thing is, he’s not even lying.”

Sabrina laughed. “Well, that’s pretty lame then, considering I’m about a foot shorter than you.”

Derek shrugged. “But I’ve seen what you do to Mark. It’s scarring, really.”

Sabrina rolled her eyes. “I’m only violent with him because he still hasn’t learned to give in.”

She laughed as his jaw dropped. “Excuse me?”

“What?” she asked innocently, as they came to the car.

Derek’s mouth broke into a giant grin. “She’s training you. Like a dog.”

Mark shot him a warning look.

“She’s making you her little- “

Mark reached out and covered Derek’s mouth with his hand, pushing him into the car. Shaking his head, he opened the front door for Sabrina, giving her a look. She laughed as she leaned in and grabbed his chin with her hand, pulling his face to hers. “I was just kidding.” she whispered, adding as an afterthought, “Sort of.”

He didn’t think he could fall any more for her, but in that instance of complete honesty, he felt himself fall just a little further. “You’re horrible.” he replied with a smile.

She raised her eyebrows. “I can stop being violent if you want.”

Mark shook his head quickly. “I seem to recall your attack this morning ending in a somewhat enjoyable position...” he trailed off, his eyes twinkling.

She leaned in, planting a smacking kiss on his lips, then shoving him away from her, closing the door with a wink. As Mark strolled around to the other side of the car, he smiled to himself as he heard Derek wailing about their public displays of affection causing him to become physically ill, or something like that.

Although he had two crazy people in his car, he was now sure that he would welcome the craziness.

And probably always would.
