Greece sunshine

Greetings from the sunny land of Greece! I left last Wednesday(skipping hungarian music lit and folk music) with Gabby and her friend for Budapest. We went to an art museum to see the Goya exhibit, and then to the baths to relax. It was really nice. We ended up staying out really late at this pizza place with this hungarian guy Gabby likes. Anyways, I got to Athens around 3 Thursday afternoon. Athens was kinda overwhelming at first. Once I got to my hostel I met a girl from Australia who's living in London and a guy from Montreal, Canada(Shelila and Guillaume). We hung out for the rest of the day. Friday, when I had planned to see the Acropolis, I woke up to rainy cold weather. bleh! So I went to see the national archaeological museum and the historical museum. They were pretty interesting, but by the end, I was tired of museums. Anyways, when I got back to the hostel, I met some new roomates(I was in an 8 person mixed dorm room), 2 girls from Los Angeles and a guy from Texas. I ended up spending the next 2 days with them. The 2 girls were studying Spanish in Spain, and Andy had been living in Barcelona for 3 years teaching English. He had some crazy stories, which I was highly amused by. Anyways, we all went to see the Acropolis on Saturday, I think we were out walking for nearly 8 hours-It was insane.(Note to self-wear sunscreen!!!!) Anyways, we went to a club that night...my first club experience. It was ok. It was really crowded, and the music was just too loud for me. Melissa and I left at 3am, and the other two got in around 5. Sunday we took a day trip to Cape Sounion to see the Temple of Poseidon. It was nice to get out of the busy city and see the natural beauty of Greece. (Again, note to self-see note #1) On the way back, we stopped in a little town on the beach and had dinner, which made me sick to my stomach. I felt like I was going to die(ok, maybe a little over dramatic, but I was sick and in pain in a foreign country). Anyways, we made it back safely to Athens. Monday, I went to Areti's(Greek girl from the Kodaly Institute) wedding dress fitting. It was nice traveling around with someone who spoke Greek. We did a little shopping as well. I bought a dress and a bra/undies since mine are no longer fitting me properly(the downside of losing weight). Spent way too much, but I am usually really good with money, so once isn't so bad. Tuesday I went to Delphi with Shelila. We walked around the ruins-lots of walking! I spent the night and then went to Galaxidi the next day. Anyways, now I'm in Nafpaktos, a small coastal town. I spent most of the day walking on the beach and writing/reading. It was nice to just relax. I had forgotten how much I love the beach. It makes me feel calm. Tomorrow, I'm traveling to Patra, where Areti lives. Yay for Sunday with the big Easter dinner! I'm super excited! Well, I gotta get going. Time's up!
Miss you all!

Love,
Megan/Stewart
