Ya gotta love the classics
So, this morning I watched Treasure of the Sieara Madre. And do you know what is great about that movie? Ok, yeah, it's a Humphrey Bogart is in it, but that's not what I'm talking about. It's a Western, in a way and it's Action. It's an action film. These bums wanna strike it rich, they go out to the desert and guess what...they find gold! And it goes on from there, telling their story, their Adventure. The best part is, there's no sex in it.
Yeah, I know, sex sells, but how great is it that there isn't a chick in pretty much the whole movie. There was no need to throw some lame love angle into it. Not every single thing in life has to have a dash of love and sex in it. And that is my favorite thing about the movie. Action movies today are not like that. The first one that popped into my mind was Gone in 60 seconds. That is the one with Angelina in it right? I think so. Anyway, point is, I hated that movie. With or without the lame love angle, it sucked. But I think it would have been a much more respectable movie without the slutty sex appeal she brought to the table. Not every movie has to have a chick in it. If you've got a good story, you've got a good story. Period. And even if you have a good story, why do you need to throw some sex on top of it. Just in case? Bullshit.
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that if you have not seen this movie you should. It's great, if not for anything but because it's all males. A true Action, Adventure, whatever you want to classify it as. It's pure and very non-this generation hollywood.
