yes, we so need another hp movie write up

What do you do when you call out sick from work, and by noon you're bored shitless? You go see the new Harry Potter movie.

This is more of a reaction to the movie rather than a review. It was not great, it was okay. Like the previous ones, if you've not read the book, you'll be scratching your head in confusion at certain points. The flying scenes were fantastic. I can almost feel the exhilaration as Harry and the Order whizzed through the city at night.

First, a brief word on the fine casting. Jason Isaacs continues to be marvelous--everytime Lucius appears--and Sirius and Remus and TONKS! I really dig Tonks! Helena Bonham-Carter also did not disappoint as Bellatrix. The Department of Mysteries scenes are cool. Bellatrix's flash of green light happened fast, and before you knew it, Sirius was falling through the veil. It's well done, as is Harry's stunned look--not realizing for a couple of seconds what had happened.

But here's the thing: I enjoy it because it reminds me that I love the characters. The Harry Potter series, specifically the Harry/Hermione ship, brought me to fanfiction and livejournal, respectively. I can't get over the fact that in every scene with Harry and Hermione in it, I want them to jump each other and have sex. And it helps that Emma Watson is looking better and better. (Daniel Radcliff, don't expose your wienie to the general public anymore.) LOL! I blame it all on the fanfiction, of course; random scenes that popped into my head are from fanfiction, not OotP. I am a shipper when it comes to HP. I don't quite know why, even though I hardly care about the fandom anymore, or remember much about the books.

And finally, I got a kick out of hearing Hermione tell Ron he has the emotional range of a teaspoon.

ETA: Dolores Umbridge is dressed in various shades of pink throughout. Need I say more?

ETA 2: LUNA! How could I have forgotten to mention Luna? Gentle and well-played by Ivana Lynch.
