Old Fashioned
Today I was referred to as Old Fashioned. I like to do things the old fashioned way. I heard it from a very good friend so it wasn't an insult. I'm just an old fashioned girl.
Later while taking Dee to Boy Scouts a VW Beetle, the real thing, crossed in front of us. I couldn't resist. I reached behind me and "punched" Dee on the leg and yelled "PUNCHBUGGY". He laughed and then asked me why. So I explained that ---years----ago when you were the first to see that kind of car, you punched the person sitting next to you and said punchbuggy. He liked it and said that was cool. He said that those cars are what the "Geek Squad" drive and they are full of geeks. How does a 6 year old know what a geek is? Well after the Beetle turned the corner I was able to see the license plate. It is now considered an ANTIQUE. Herbie is an antique?
Tomorrow we get to watch a whole bunch of kids blowing their brains out to get a wooden boat from one end of a gutter to the other side....10 feet away. And it works on the elimination theory. They take the winners from each set to beat out for the next round until only one wins. This may take a while, but they will sleep good later.
