Sof Shavua B’Tel Aviv (Alles für meinen Vater)
Tarek, a Palestinian forced on a suicide mission in Tel Aviv to redeem his father's honor, is given a second chance when the fuse on his explosive vest fails to detonate.  Forced to spend the weekend in Tel Aviv awaiting its repair, Tarek must live amongst the people he was planning to kill.  To his surprise he connects with several Israelis on the outskirts of society, including the beautiful Keren, who has cut off contact with her Orthodox family and upbringing.  With nothing to lose, Tarek and Keren open up to one another, and an unlikely love blooms between two isolated and damaged individuals, raised to be enemies.

Sof Shavua B’Tel Aviv is absorbing and complex quest of unyielding emotion, choice, and discovery. To save the honor of his father, he wants to leave everything behind to be a suicide bomber in Tel Aviv. But on his way he finds the ejected Keren and the lifeless Mr. Katz. And one thing he learns again to love and that’s life!

I just finished watching the movie. And I was very surpridsed about the movie, because I thought it would be again a movie “were nobody needs.”.  But I was wrong. It was a fantastic movie about the need to love, to forgive and to live.

I felt very sorry for the person “Tarek” (suicide bomber) because I could feel through the whole movie his frustration and the poignant grief about his life.

But suddenly he finds these new people, and both have their sorrow. Mr. Katz lost his son and Keren ejected from her father, because of life.

“Another splendid set example for the current flowering of Israeli cinema. A moving drama tragic and hopeful.”

My conclusion is this independent film dares to show the human side of both sides- Israeli and Palestinian. There is no political message, no taking sides, and little history of the conflict in the region in a beautiful city and country.

What will he do after his 48 hours are up, when his own parents' lives are on the line? Find out by watching "For My Father". Awesome little gem of a film!

10 / 10 Points.

After I watched this wondeful movie, I listened to Idan Raichel, and I found a wonderful song, that I think it fits perfectly to the movie. Just beautiful!

Music Tipp: Idan Raichel - Cholomot Shel Acherim (Other's dreams)

So hope you like my first film review. I would like to know how you find it ;-)
