WTF-ery
Sooo... if you want a het pairing why not just choose one that already exists in that universe?
Why turn an otherwise strong, capable man into a weeping chick? I mean, sheesh, not even a strong and capable chick (of which there also happen to be plenty)?
I just do not understand.
I've seen this done in every fandom I read in from Starsky & Hutch, MFU, The Professionals, Lord of the Rings to Saiyuki, Naruto, Fruits Basket and Weiss Kreuz.
Only an extremely small number of authors have ever been able to keep my interest beyond the first paragraph, only two authors managed to keep me throughout that type of story and both those authors were actually exploring how the characters would feel if they found themselves transformed, what kind of emotional turmoil, psychological problems and psyche scarring obstacles would present themselves and whether or not these problems would be overcome or lead to an ever spiraling descent into madness.
It was not simply an excuse to write het sex. :|
