so the week begins, much like it should. following another great weekend. a couple concerts, a few long evenings and wonderful friends.
Friday night with Ben, Jenna, Dustin, Kate and Sarah, bowling and chilling at Jennas... great time, however i stayed sober, contrary to what everyone wished from me. Work sucks, especially when you have to be in early enough to spoil an evening. Either way, i needed the rest for a perfect saturday. Following work saturday morning, which happend to be extremely busy, I went home, did some laundry and chilled. Met up with Sarah for dinner later that evening, picked up Kate, and took off to Pat Byrne's pub. If you've never been, its a great place, good people and an amazing owner. Pat Byrne is a great guy, and he is running for the House Representative in district 24. If you can vote for him, you should. Aside from that, met up with the Prodigals for another amazing concert. Met up with Andrew and the rest of the band, catching up on news and hellos and the like. In addition, met up with Jada, a great person from Indianapolis, who sells merchandise for the band. We caught up on more news about life and friends in chicago, and she bought me an irish car bomb (I guess loaning her that atlas in cincy paid off)!! Sarah and Kate seemed to really enjoy the show, and I really wish more of our friends could have been there. Its really amazing, about the prodigals shows, becuase after a couple, its like another extended family. wonderful people, great bars/festivals and enjoyable experiences.
Sunday brought along a morning without an alarm, waking up the best way possible. Aside from interruptions, the morning was great. After a late breakfast, it was a trip up north to detroit to catch the Morrissey concert, which was an interesting show. After arriving in detriot, my cousin and i waited in line outside in the cold for 2 and a half hours or so.. met some interesting people, and the crowd seemed quite normal. I was convinced that there would be few women, and crazy, fanatical guys crying and going nuts like women in 60's television broadcasts. I was wrong. Actually, there were a decent amount of female fans, and the guys seemed average. I didn't see any guys cry (although a couple came close), but a few women lost it. I guess he has that affect on people. My cousin touched his hand, as we were basically on the bar at the stage. That seemed to make his night. Overall, the band played well, morrissey seems to be aging well, and i really enjoyed the concert. I don't think i'd go again, as its really not my kind of vibe for a concert. To me, concerts need to be energetic, with adrenaline rushes and such. Morrissey, to me, is a personal experience, and i'd rather listen to his cd's, with my own playlist. But if you are a fan, definitely see him once. its worth it. The drive home was nice, with a stop in toledo, to visit sarah at denny's and finally meet gretchen. It was great to see sarah one last time before this week begins, as it is going to be hell. actually, that is just how it is starting....
right now, im feeling a little sick (thanks, cold weather) and i allready missed 2 classes today. Oh well, i haven't missed any all year, and i dont think i missed much today. This afternoon brings a lab report and studying, with a lot of stuff to do by the end of this week. This weekend, however, will start much like the last with a great night out of town, up in Cleveland, as i am able to go see the Prodigals again in the beachland ballroom. This is a long post, and if you are still reading, im very suprised.
