I knew the election would turn out this way...
I knew it would turn out like it did,
I'm glad for an overall presidential election that placed a smart, democrat who's interested in diplomacy and specific economic reform in the white house. I'm saddened by Californian's short sighted and biggoted propositions that we can't pay for and or shouldn't have to.... if you get my drift. I shake my head and still wonder how Prop 8 could possibly protect marriage.
The add I saw on television that pointed out the similarity to bans on interracial marriage came too little too late. I think changing the constitution to specifically define and limit a particular group of the population is so backwards it hurts. If prop 8 removed the rights to marry of any other group there'd be a huge outcry.
Why aren't more people more angry?
On the Bond Measures....we can't afford poorly written legislation..... why is this still an issue? People like the idea of having things they can't yet afford.
As far as short sighted..... that sort of sums up a lot of the results of the measures proposed with too few highlights.
