the swine flu
i have a very bad feeling about this. i think it's only a matter of time that a case of type A swine flu will travel and pop up in sg. it's so virulent and deadly, 81 people dead in just 3 or 4 days[?]. good thing we've been stocking up on tamiflu, even if it was to relieve public concerns regarding the govt readiness against h5n1. i feel quite scared. i don't think it's wrong to feel this way, after all, all flu cases will be sent to TTSH, at which about 1/5 the class, myself included, is posted to. this flu is most deadly to young healthy people and i don't think i'll survive an infection, given my wonderful respiratory system. at least by being kiasi, we are more hygeinic and cautious. they've started wearing n95s in a&e depts, i think we may have to start wearing at least surgical masks in other wards, and wash our hands 10X more often. i think we all should be ready.
