this morning started out crazy. i had spent the night at my boyfriend's house, and while driving home, my car spun out and landed in a ditch. again. this happened just a few months ago, when i hit a patch of ice and spun out. but this time it was my own damn fault, but we won't get into that. it scared the hell out of me, obviously, but luckily some really nice people pulled over and helped me out. three men stopped and one of them had a huge truck with some cables that he used to drag my car out. i was lucky that there were no oncoming cars, and also lucky that i spun out into an empty part of the ditch, and not into one of the telephone poles. the car was okay for the most part, but all of my running lights and fog lights were busted out and hanging out, dangling from their cords, and also my liscense plate had snapped off. other than that, the car was okay. i got home, and when i went to call around and find replacement lights, i was totally shocked. $155 each for the running lights, and $215 each for the fog lights! i guess this is my curse for driving an infiniti. but me being a cheapscate, decided that i'm just going to do without. it doesn't look all that bad, and if anyone gives me shit i'm just going to tell them to fuck off.
after that event was over with, i decided to go online and see if my grades were posted yet. there was a notice saying that grades won't be up till tomorrow, but there was something telling all students to check their financial award letters. i had checked mine a few weeks ago, and it said that i hadn't received any financial aid. which i was really pissed about. i'm sure everyone is aware how badly i was worrying about this, trying to figure out how to pay for school all by myself, but i finally have some GREAT news. the school finally DID decide to give me some money. on top of the $9000 scholarship i already receive, i was given a $4500 grant, and about $6000 in loans! that comes up to a total of $19000!!!! i also found out from work that they have a titution reimbursement program, which i can get a total of $2500 a year, so that means that i probably won't even have to take out any of the loans i was offered. with my scholarship, my grant, and the reimbursement from work, everything will be covered and i will barely have to pay anything!!! i am so excited, so releived, and so utterly, fucking happy.
