Like, I guess I should post more than just on holidays, huh?

Happy Birthday, America!

Like, finally, the one holiday I can actually stand (besides maybe Halloween). Christmas and stuff isn't bad, but like seriously, there's no "spirit of the season" around those holidays anymore. Everyone's too pissed off from waiting in lines for hours and like, having to drag their spoiled brats all over the place to find out what they want for presents. Like, I thought the whole point of holidays (at least the good ones) was to see family and eat awesome food. I mean, kids already get presents on their birthday, anyway. That's why there's so many spoiled brats these days.

I hope dinner tonight will fit the holiday. Some barbecued food would be sweet. Hamburgers, smoked sausages, something. Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I had grilled chicken. I think maybe we had chili here on last year's Fourth, but I can't remember that too clearly either.

I do totally remember going to a Fourth concert by Shadow of Metal and Missing Page when I was seventeen with my friends though! Now that was fun. Not sure why Missing Page was there--their music and SoM's don't really sound alike, but they're still good, even if they attract fangirl mobs. Well, like, their lead singer did--he had that flippy black hair and all that stupid make-up. (Seriously, like, I'd rather fight through a crowd of stoned metal heads who can appreciate, you know, the actual music then have to slap some braindead tweens only there for the "cute vocalist" out of my way--or would I?)

Anyway it kicked ass. They both opened together with Star-Spangled Banner, then SoM played Maniac Medley, Muffler, Platinum Brace and, um, maybe Santa Maria 2. (I'm pretty sure it was 2, 1 is like, half an hour long!) Then Missing Page followed up with Christie Anne, two other songs I don't really like and Water Bottle. Christie Anne's the one song they've named after a girl I actually like. I mean, I think they were, like, inspired by the Beatles somewhat, but really, who names like ten of their songs after ten different girls? How totally lame. They're not a bad band but their singer is such a mega man whore. Too bad Shadow of Metal split up two years ago.

But like, you don't need big parties and stuff to have fun today though. We had a pretty good one when I was...nine. My sister and I played video games most of the day, then my dad's friends came over and we had a barbecue, and they brought sparklers. Does anyone buy those for their kids anymore? Those were so cool. And like, what is up with these people who set off fireworks in their yard on July 3rd? That's so annoying. If you're going to be noisy, then like, do it on the night everyone's doing the same thing! You know, I totally wish I could have been born in, like, the 70s or 80s. They were driving so many sweet rides then, and on the Fourth you could see so many of 'em at once!

I wonder if we'll be able to see any fireworks from the yard? Probably not. Guess I'll go see what everyone's up to. Patricia, hope you and your son have fun today. Tell the others I said hi, okay?
