I want to win!

So, yesterday we had a trunk show by a designer called Jude Frances. The jewelry is spectacular and there was an incentive - top sales person for the show gets $2000 in jewelry... if we make our goal. Our goal was $30k.

I had a client coming in with her husband, shopping for their 25th wedding anniversery. I've worked with her before. She picked out three bracelets that she wanted from our showcase ahead of the show that totalled $14k, so going into the show, I knew I had a strong chance at winning the incentive. So my customer came in, the vibe was great, she loved the bracelets, but swapped one of the ones from my showcase for one of the ones in the show. It brought her total down to $13.3k.

I had been working on finding a lapis ring for a client. She was out of town but I texted her with the picture of the one lapis ring in this trunk show. Its the only one left in the company. We went back and forth about it, but ultimately, it was a little fancier than she was looking for... but I had it in my head that I was selling that lapis ring.

So I got a walk-up customer. She asked to speak to the rep. She was carrying a Chanel handbag. Apparently she had an old piece that had been repaired a few times and she was disappointed about it and didn't feel secure wearing it anymore. The rep was fantastic. She made the customer feel heard, at ease, and satisfied. I'll be sending the piece to her attention for her to take care of, and if it can't be repaired again, the lady will get a credit for the value of the piece. Lady then tried on the lapis ring. I told her it was the last one. My rep was wearing hers, which had been the second to last. It happened to have a better stone, and she let the customer try it on. She was like, "Hey, if you want it, I'll let you have mine." the customer was like, "Really?" rep was like, "Really. People buy my jewelry off me all the time." lady was like, "Great. I'll take it."

$5000 ring.

Now I'm up to over $18,000 for the show.

Now the rest of the whole entire team just has to come up with $12,000 and I win my jewelry!

We ended up at $29,795.

What.the.fuck.

My manager thought $30k was a high goal, so she went back to look, and another document she had said the actual show goal was $25k. So she'll hear back on monday about whether we just missed it, or blew it out of the water.

Crossing my fingers.

Anyway, it was a stellar day, and I'm actually on track to make my month. Plus that's a fat paycheck for one day. The jewelry would just be the icing on top.
